Congrats on reading the last page of this thread. Marketing tie-in by Wal-mart with the BCS. It was going to a local Wal-mart regardless of who won the MNC.

Thanks... I'm so sick of the Walmart jokes. It'd be in Texas Walmarts if they'd won. Stupid Dr. Pepper and Walmart marketing deal. Just unfortunate that it happened the year we won.

I can't defend the individuals in those pictures, though. Jesus.

No Kirby Smart to UGA. Sad day in Bulldog Nation to be turned down by an Alum. I would have settle for Tubberville if he hadn't gone to Tech. No idea who we're targeting now. Richt had better take his time and make sure he gets the right guy though, his seat's gettin a little warm.

I wonder what we offered him. I heard the UGA offer was actually $750k/year. Hard for me to believe that we gave him more.... but maybe.

Rolando McClain to the NFL. Can't blame him for going - he's a sure 1st round pick - but we'll miss him in the backfield. It would have been great to see him Dan'ta Hightower together again. At least we get Hightower back next year.

Florida is being gutted by early departures. One of the Pouncey twins, DE Dunlap, TE Hernandez, CB Haden and that is on top of losing Tebow, Cooper, Spikes, etc. Florida might return 3 starters next year.

The only thing I've been able to find is "a considerable bump in salary to stay at Alabama. Smart earned $369,350 last season..." Monte Kiffin makes 1.2 mil and Muschamp makes $907,500. I think it'll have to be at least in the 500K range. Now UGA is lookin at Todd Grantham from the Cowboys.

I'm interested to see just how long Urban stays away. If UF is losing, I expect him back before the season's over. I think Tubberville can win at Texas Tech, and we'll just have to see who gets the job at USC. Can't wait for the 2010 season!

Yeah... I think those two guys are outliers in the world of coordinator salaries. One is an ex-NFL guy working for his son, and the other is a coach-in-waiting. Absent a situation similar to one of those, I don't think it's reasonable for a D-Coordinator (no matter how good) in college football to make more than $500k. I'm suprised UGA offered as much as they did.

Then again, a few years ago it was absurd for a coach to be making Saban's $3.9m/year, and now there are $5m/year college coaches here and there. Good job if you can get it... unless, of course, all that money stresses you out too much. :(

Mack makes $5 mill a year. He is the CEO of a huge program that generates millions for the school and the athletic department. I'm good with his salary.

FSU will be fine in the fall. I don't think Bobby really coached any more anyway. Now the other guy has FULL control. Should be a good year.

Yeah... I'd say he's worth it. I saw some stat earlier this year.... There's only one D-1 program in the country that's had a 10-win season every single season from 2001 forward. That program is Texas. Success like that should be rewarded.

I agree about FSU. The only potential drop-off could be in recruiting. Not having a legend at the helm might change things there, but I don't think he did ANY actual coaching the last few years.

Lane Kiffin is supposedly leaving UT to go to USC and is taking Monte and Orgeron with him.

Lane Kiffin is the new USC head coach. What the FUCK?!?!?

On one hand, I think that ass-clown will be fun to watch as he brings the USC program down (not like they'll need any help with the NCAA slapping them left and right).

On the other hand, I'm REALLY happy that the Vols have to deal with a coaching search mid-recruiting season.

So... I guess it's win/win for me. Enjoy the PAC-10, Lane!

Don't know how true it is, but I heard one report that Bama gave Smart close to 900K to come back. Been tryin to find it somewhere online but I can't. Heard it one time on TV but other than that I haven't heard anything about it.
