Brown's contract runs through 2016. I woudln't want to be the "Coach in waiting" for another 6 years. But I guess if he's pussy whipped enough to stay there because "his wife loves it in Austin" then he doesn't deserve a huge pay increase or getting to coach in the best conference in the nation. (Proven once again this year - National Champions/winners of the "Bowl Challenge" by having the best record, even though it was only 6-4)

Yeah, I wasn't a fan of the throat slash, either.

Make all the snide comments you want about the # of championships debate... we won one last week. How 'bout y'all?

What's the big deal about the throat slash in sports? I don't see a problem with it...unless it's coming from Tennessee, those guys actually have guns and might kill you. All he's sayin is it's over. And it basically was. It's supposed to be "intimidating." Football used to be a bunch of men practically trying to humiliate their opponent by scoring points and administering pain. If you wanted to talk about it on the field, go for it. Now palyers can't breath on each other without gettin a flag for unsportsmanlike conduct. It's retarded. Tell em it's over. Give the throat slash signal. Tell em to suck it. Throw the horns up when you beat the horns for the NC. Give the Gator chomp when you beat the Gators any time. Point to the crowd. Dance. The game was more fun to watch when players could celebrate. It was fun to watch the old Miami teams that would dance and celebrate and slap the other team up side the head and tell em they just beat their ass. People are too pussified now.

I think there's something to be said for winning with a little class, and there's not much of that going around anymore. It's not the most offensive thing in the world to me, but I prefer the guy who will knock the QB on his ass every play, then help him up.

Muschamp rejected the TEN job. Move along Vols. Good Luck with your search.

I think it'd be fun to make a list of coaches who turned down the Tennessee job. One of the "top 15 jobs in the country" was turned down by:

Will Muschamp (who would rather wait for who knows how long)
Jon Gruden (who would rather stay on TV... can't blame him)
Troy Calhoun (who elected to stay at Air Force)
David Cutcliffe?? I've heard yes and no....

My issue with the throat slash is that it is rarely warrented. I did not see when he did it. If it was at the end of the game, it was right after they got a fumble and it took him 3 tries and a review to score. No place for a throat slash.

Dude that broke the 50 yarder - sure, throat slash away. BUT - it is not classy at all and is really amaturish.

LT does it right. Score, hand the ball to the ref, and jog off - like it is just another day at the office.

Handing it off or dropping the ball is how our boys have done it most of the year. Ingram likes to yell a lot after he scores, but I don't hold that against him. Like I've said, I don't like that we do it, but I'm not going to stay mad at our first Heisman winner for too long. He's just a sophomore. He still has some growing to do.

I'm hearing reports that Cutcliffe turned down the TN job to stay at DUKE! That's right, vol fans... your precious "top 15 job in the country" was passed over by somebody who coaches football at DUKE!

Who's gonna turn it down next???
