Yeah, that's what I'm hearing/reading now. LA-Tech to Tennessee.. quite a jump. We're all in trouble if he's anything like his daddy, though. Still... it's hard for the Vols to insist theirs is one of the most coveted jobs in football after being passed on by so many.

I think in Tennessee's defense its a very shitty situation to step into. Real late in the recruiting process and all your recruits are jumping ship. If it was say a firing at the end of the year and a chance to step in and recruit I'd say it would be a more attractive job.

Yeah we got Dooley... and in all honesty I'm happy about it. Fact is, I'm happy to have anybody but Kiffin. I know that it will more than likely be a slow rebuilding process, and I'm ok with that. Not sure if any of you seen the press conference, but he is very respective of this conference. He has admiration for Saban (as he worked with him in the past) and the other coaches as well. I look foward to seeing what he brings to Tennessee. I know the next few seasons will be a definate rough time for Tennessee ( just as it has been for the last 7-8 years).

I've been quite ashamed at the UT athletics program recently. I hope Dooley brings a zero tolerance for criminals (lord knows we need to weed them out :) ). I've also been dissapointed in some of the fans (well mainly the students). Their reaction to Kiffin leaving was completely ignorant. We needed Kiffin gone more than we needed him here. I guess burning a matress is a UT students idea of fun when they are bored and they are given an oppurtunity to hate something.

I know from an outsider looking in, Tennessee's program has been a laughing stock to everyone else. I just hope some people out there can understand that the majority of us aren't like that. Just like the War in Iraq... you only see the bad stuff on TV. ESPN failed to show/play clips of anybody that was thinking logically during this time. I think I speak for the majority of Volnation when I say that I am embarassed that the bad apples on TV made us all look bad... and I'm hoping some people out there can see past that.

And I agree with yall on the matter of Tennessee being a "Top 10" job. I'm a realist... we haven't won a NC since 1998. I dont know how anybody considers us a Top 10 place. All I know is that I hope Dooley can turn things around. It will probably be a slow process. I'm looking foward to getting past this situation and being a competitive team in the upcoming seasons. I'm glad to have a coach that I think will represent the University the way it should be.

edit- btw... this is my 1,000th post. Damn I didn't think that was even possible !

CBCS - Your program is much better off in the long run. He might have screwed you with your pants on for this recruiting season, but from what I saw of the press conference, Dooley seems to be a stand up guy. Hopefully he has a complex about Saban, though.

That lady just makes me laugh in general. There's another song that they've be playing around here. Freaking hilarious.

Just watched the NC game again. SO GOOD!

Headed down to T-town to congratulate the team in person. It's gonna be rainy, but it should be a lot of fun.

    ROLL TIDE!

I havent really comented on the game. I rewatched the next morning. Im not really a what if guy or an excuse maker . I truly think the out come would have been different if Colt had not gotten hurt. But even with him gone Texas put up a hell of a fight. The intercepted shovel pass was such a fluke. Ive never seen that happen before. If Texas had taken a knee there and everything else in the game played out the same Texas would have been leading with 2 minutes to go instead of down by 3.
Ingram is a great runner. I think I posted earlier in the season that I like his running style. You should be glad he is coming back next year. And I hope your back up QB is a good one McElroy was only 6 / 11 with like 60 yards in the game. But with the lead he didnt have to pass to win.
All in all I am very dissapointed in the outcome as you can imagine but the future looks bright with Garret Gilbert. Texas will be back in the big game within the next 3 years.

Yeah, we get Ingram, Richardson, McElroy, Juilo Jones, Maze and Hanks all back next year on offense. If we don't contend for the title again, I'll be disappointed.

Our QBs combined in the last three title games are really terrible. I can't remember the stat, but their combined copmletions/yards/TDs sound like a single bad game. Still, with the weapons we have on offense, we don't need a stellar QB... just a good game manager.

Texas inked the #1 WR in the nation on the ESPN 150 as well as 3 other WRs in the ESPN 150. Dan Buckner is transferring. Kirkendall, Goodwin, Darius White (true FR) look to be the top 3 WRs heading into next year to be the weapons for Gilbert. Ulatosky and a few others on the line are gone but we usually reload in that dept. If Earl Thomas doesnt leave our secondary looks to be in tact too for the next year. Overall im excited. Is it Sept. yet?
