USC is always overrated. OSU can't beat anybody that's worth anything. The SEC is always strong, and the ACC (for the most part) has been comin on in the last couple of years. You put the best team from the Big 10, Big 12, and Pack 10 into the SEC or ACC and they might have a .500 season.

My response to best conference all time, is the SEC. I don't see any argument. Top to bottom, they are consistently very good. I am not stupid and going to say that any team from any conference would go 10-2 year in and year out in the SEC. Nor will I say that any team from the SEC could go to any other conference and go 10-2 year in and year out. Vanderbilt is not going to be a winning school in the Big 12 consistently, nor in any other conference. Baylor sure as shit isn't going to be a powerhouse in the ACC (but they'd win more than they do in the Big 12).

But check out this site for some good statistics: http://cfbdatawarehouse.com/data/div_ia_conf_index.php

Great place to dig around and see who has been consistent and who was a flash in the pan. The SEC has always been good. The big 12 (since 1996) has been a good conference based on the statistics of that site. The ACC has never been a great conference. The Big 10 was a powerhouse and for the last 30 years has gotten worse and worse.

The ACC is a good conference? By most accounts, the ACC is the 5th conference behind in this order, SEC, Big-12, Pac-10, and Big 10 in most college football publications. The Big-12 beat up the ACC the last couple of years. OU-Miami 2007, Kansas even beat VT in the Orange Bowl in 07Nebraska over Clemson 08......Free Shoes University, and Convict U aren't the teams they used to be...this isn't the 90's.
