09 Tacoma chirping sound HELP!

well i got the previous owners info and called her up and she actually bought it through the certified pre owned deal and it was transferable so i got that taken care of and im covered up to 100k or 3 more years very happy now ha

 

there is a company out there that makes an upgrade throwout bearing kit the company is called URDUSA.com this is a known issue with the throwout bearing making small grooves on the quill. and when the grooves start this is what is causing the chirping noise when the clutch is disengauged. i just had mine put on and no more chirping. the upgrade kit comes with a factory throwout bearing that has been machined to allow a stainless steel sleeve to fit inside it. you install the stainless steel sleeve on the quill and new throwout bearing. hope this helps.

 

Did this start just after your service? And what was done?

 

it was traded in about 3000 miles after the 60k service then my dealership went through it its been making the noise since i bought it but i never really noticed or bothered me till a few days ago,ill check into the kit i have a appointment set up for tuesday to find the for sure issue and it should all be covered in the warranty he said so ill keep my fingers crossed.

 

not sure all that was done on the 60k it just shows up in the carfax.

 

take it to toyota, tell them u have the warranty, and tell them you have a chirp when you let out the clutch.

it's almost 100% that its the throw out bearing, extremely common with the 6 speeds...mine chirps but not bad enough to take it in to Toyota yet

 

throw out bearing. mine did the same & i lived with it for a few months but then it started making a whine when shifting so I put a new clutch & throw out bearing in it.

 

i was reading to that the clutch fork could just need greased but idk ill have the conclusion tuesday just happy it still has warranty

 

Just wanted to update its been like a yeAR but issue was throw out bearing and I got it replaced under warranty thanks for all the help

Ya i did it last year, ha all good now can't believe those are going out with 60 and less on them
