09 Tacoma pre runner starter issues

I have a 09 Tacoma pre runner that im having issues with the starter staying energized. I have verified the coil side of the relay for the starter is staying energized with key in on position. When we turn the key to on the starter will energize and stay in that state until we put the truck in gear. I put a meter on the coil side of the relay and verified as soon as we turn key on 12v is present until you shift to reverse or drive. Truck is a automatic. That's when the neutral safety breaks connection. Owner had just installed a new neutral safety thinking that was the issue. We also installed a new electrical ignition switch without any luck. Checking to see if theres any schematics on the ignition switch that could point me in the right direction or if anyone has had this issue? thanks
