09' vs. 10' TPMS

I know there is a difference but there seems to be some issue on wether or not you can use older tpms sensors on newer trucks.

I have a 2010 tacoma with steel wheels and a set of trd wheels from a 2009, can the newer computer be programmed for the older sensors?

If not, does rotating the steel wheel sensors 180 degrees actually work?

 

The 180 rotation you are talking about is only to try to fit steel wheel TPMS on alloys or visa versa. As far as the computer programming, the '09 sensors and 2010 are identical.

 

Thanks, i had read some old posts but you always see "I Think" and I live kinda far from the Toyota dealer. Nice to at least look like you know what your talking about when you ask for a service.

 

from what I have gathered it looks like the 2006 sensor is the only one that is different. If anyone knows for sure it may be helpful to some when used wheel shopping??
