Hubcentric, if my knowledge serves me correctly, provides an automatic centering feature due to the type of bore drilled (concaved) [sure there's another term used to describe that]. As such, it limits wheel wabble or off center tendencies. The newer trucks use a hubcentric lug nut.

So, to answer your question, you pose two completely separate issues. hubcentric really has no bearing on the offset of the rim.

Are spacers harder on OEM setup...perhaps. But my understanding of physics (as an A&P mechanic) thinks it is minimal at best. now if you were going with a 3" spacer, this may be a different argument.

Just my lame ass insights... ;)

i've just noticed that a lot of people argue that spacers exert more force on wheel bearings and hubs because of the added leverage that results from extending the wheel out further. however, you rarely hear that same argument posed regarding running wheels with a lower offset (i.e. a wheel with 0 offset will push the tire out 30mm/1.25" by comparison to the stock rim). just seems like different sides of the same coin.

Spacers will be the weak point in your suspension and will increase the side load on your wheel bearings. Don't need no stinkin' spacers.

I had AllPro on my FJ and now have them on the Taco and they were fine on both trucks. If you want to run stock wheels and 285's you will have to have them. On a lifted truck they make a big difference...the truck is more stable and corners real good. They also make the truck look much better. To be honest I really haven't found a down side to them yet. Thanks.

Just installed All Pro 1.25" Spacers with a 3" level lift kit (temporary). I'll get pics up later this week.

Great thread. I just purchased Konig countersteers and a toytec ultimate lift with TC UCAs...My question is if aftermarket wheels need spacers or just stock wheels with larger tires?

You only need wheel spacers if your backspacing on the new wheels is the same as stock, I think stock wheels have 5.5 backspacing :notsure: So if your new wheels have larger backspacing than you don't need wheel spacers.

So.......would these 1.25" spacers be the thing for this with stock 16" wheels with 245/75/16s just to get a wider stance without buying rims or wider tires?............without it stressing the wheel bearings much? Not gonna be doin much offroading, just want a bit wider stance.

    Yup.

This is the general consensus and I've got mine installed now. It gives a noticeable wider stance, but not obnoxious.

    Quite please about them.

Spacers are proven unreliable and in Cali most shops won't even put them on the best is to go with offset rims and if ur lifting I'm gonna go with 5100 billsteins

Keep the spacers small to keep the steering and front end geometry intact!

1.25", the bigger the spacers, the earlier your wheel hubs will start breaking
