Icon extended travel 2.0 coilovers, ICON 2.0 rear reservoir shocks, tubular uniball UCA's, 1.5" AAL, 285/70/17 KM3, 17x8.5 0 offset 4.75BS Method 308 ROOST Bronze wheels, 30" bumper mounted LED light bar, Redline hood struts, Peak Performance LED H11 bulbs, LEER 100XR shell, AVID off road sliders, RCI IFS, transmission and transfer case steel skid plates, Caliraised bed stiffener, faux TRD Pro grill, Bushwacker pocket fender flares. Kicker speaker upgrade, Weathertech floor mats, hiflo filter and TRD CAI inner fender to airbox gasket, trailer brake controller.
I installed my Icon Coilover's and don't want to increase the preload by adjusting the drivers side to correct the lean (yes I'm OCD). Has anyone used or would/wouldn't recommend a 1/4" spacer from Headstrong Off Road to correct.

I don’t see it being that much of a trouble to the suspension to have on ¼ over than the rest. You could go either direction.

I find this forum contains many owners with OCD.:rofl:

Adding the spacer puts the same amount of preload on the coil as cranking the coil seat up the threaded cylinder. That's kind of the point... :notsure:

You increase preload, stiffening the spring to account for the extra weight. Like that's the whole point of the spacer. To preload a standard coil on shock setup because they're not as finely adjustable as true coilovers. The point of true coilovers is so you can fine tune each corner with appropriate preload to get consistent dampening at each wheel regardless of weight distribution.

Technically, tacos come with "true coilovers" from the factory. Coil over shock. Not trying to split hairs, it's just a common misconception :)

If you are talking about a top plate spacer then not seeing how that does anything to preload. It is on top of the top hat not between top hat and coil so it isn't preloading, it is leveling. AKA "Taco Lean Spacer" ...lots of 2nd gens came from factory 1/2" lower on one side. 1/4" top plate spacer made it level.

It's still effectively lengthening that shock thus forcing it to bear more weight to be even with the opposite side, thus it's "preloaded".

Top plate spacers will not preload the coils. If you were to add a coil spacer then you would be preloading the coils. I completely understand your dilemma, but (not sure on ICON) I just installed Fox 2.0 front coilovers and went three turns up on the drivers side to eliminate the "Taco Lean". I had even purchased the 1/4" top plate spacer to use from Headstrong, but ended up not using it. The little amount of preload that you would have just to get rid of the "Taco Lean" would be minimal and you more than likely would not feel the difference. Just my $.02

Good luck in your decision, whichever way you decide to go, either option will work (1/4" top plate spacer or adding minimal preload to the drivers side coil). Just make sure to get aligned after.

It’s already bearing more weight, hence the lean. Adding a spacer doesn’t increase the load. In fact, it would DECREASE the load bearing on the coil because it levels the truck out and redistribute the mass of the truck. What you mean is the springs have increased compressive forces, but I can’t confirm that.
