1.5 million mile 2nd Gen Tacoma!

This guy out in NC has an '08 4banger access cab he's been driving since it was new 500 miles daily, and now has over 1.5 million miles on it!

Dang, that's some frequent oil changes.

 

2.7L and 2nd engine but still that's damn impressive.

That's amazing. I'll be fucking stoked if my 4.0L can make it to 500K without a head gasket going.

 

Oil changes every two weeks

 

500 miles/day x 5 days/week so he was doing it every 5k.

I mean, it seems to be working!

 

Guess I should’ve kept my 2008 4 banger.

 

Man my back hurts just thinking about driving 500 miles a day everyday.

 

My favorite part is when they looked up the KBB value and it was still $7-9K with those miles on it...

 

To be fair, he does that driving for work. But the common denominator between all of these high mileage engines is long highway miles in a short period of time since 90% of your wear comes before reaching operating temperature.

 

I believe the 4 bangers use full synthetic oil and oil replacement is 10K, which can be stretched to 15K or 20K depending on the oil brand since his miles are mostly highway driving, the least taxing on an engine. And it takes Iridium plugs with 100K replacement intervals, which can also be stretched out.
