Well, this isn’t going away anytime soon. I need to just finish this camper to silence all you haters! Or turn it into a chicken coop.

I'm running 2 pieces of 6' L Track in my bed, just screwed into the floor. I keep all my recovery gear, tools, spares, etc. in tool bags, and strap them all down to the tracks. Easily one of the best "mods" I've done. I get a picture later.

I seem to be forever chasing my tail getting this door and door opening even remotely clean.

Fill, sand, route, fill, sand... ugh. I think I’ll be ready to glass over all these edges when I get this last bit cured and sanded.

For anyone looking to build their own camper: BUY YOUR DAMN DOOR! I didn’t find one that was even remotely what I wanted until after I had cut the hole for this door. The door I found was a drop in insulated door with my same latch and a window and full frame. It was smaller by the tiniest of amounts. I still think it’d be faster for me to fill in the hole I have and cut a new hole for the door I found. But, I’m going to push through and get this done. Hopefully it all works properly.

It’ll at least be done. Haha. I’m softening on the ‘perfect’ part.

That’s where I’m at. I like that I made it from scratch. I’m more worried about the corner of the camper cracking open more than this door gap being a little wonky. Haha.

I always love coming back to this thread once a month and checking out your progress. If you finish the build, what'll we all do with ourselves?

He is in a legally binding contract to scrap it as soon as it is done, and start another for our enjoyment :drunk:

    No. Just no.

However, there will likely be a follow-up thread: 1BCs POS DIY camper needs fixing...again. :D

I know you’re kidding. My work is spot on! Haha. We’ll see where I end up after I glass it. I could always get super fussy with more epoxy and make it perfect but I may not care that much. Or I may move in to other stuff and come back to it if it bothers me later. Some big decisions to make soon: how do I attach the boxes and how do I attach the L track?? I’ve been looking at a lot of fastening options and techniques.
