I thought about that! I think if I tuck it to the inside of the rack, it'll be okay.

I think the entire camper on the truck will create wind noice.

It's not bad, actually. I do notice a slight whistle/hum with the windows down since I moved my rack basket to one side and mounted my traction boards. But it's not bad. I'll be curious to see this all changes when I lower the camper this year and add some aero to the front of it.

More luck! I dropped off my awning mount and roof rack to get powder coated and they told me it will probably be a week, maybe less. They are usually 10 business days. She said it's been slow. Not good for them but good for me!

Side note: I'm going to pick up a mountain bike this winter. Unless everything collapses into a fiery quagmire in the next week. It's been 25 years since I've had a mountain bike. My last bike was a 1995 GT Team LTS and it was dope back in the day. It seems the only thing modern bikes have in common with that one is two wheels.

That is a pretty good turnaround. My local powder coating company that does the mesh from my grills can take 7 to 10 days on average.

10 days is their normal timeframe and they take all of it. Apparently business just died for them over the holiday weeks.

Not to hijack my own thread but I figured you deserve to know why nothing happened with my awning mount this weekend.

When the bike sits you should have the tension off of the derailleur (s).

Good tip. So put it in a higher gear (smaller cog)?

Yes, exactly that. Less tension on the springs when not in use = longer derailleur life and sharper/crisper shifts. Anyway, that’s the way I was taught many moons ago, it made sense to me so I stuck with it.

You my man are a truly skilled craftsmen and I enjoy watching the progress on your projects. Keep it up, great work.

It would have been sick! But that remedy is a nice color too. Trek has been upping their color game

Love those full suspension bikes. I’ve got an old GT mountain bike with a similar setup but way heavier.
    Does the job though.
