I've read a few lift block install threads so I know how to everybody does it. Hope this isn't a stupid question but can't u just take the U-bolts off and jack the rear up about 2" using the tow hitch as a jack point then slide the blocks in? Lower back down to the blocks and install new u-bolts. Just wondering if this method would work?

Yep.... Basically, just make sure you align the centering pins to the spring perches on the axle side.
I don't think removing the shocks would be an issue with a 1" block, something to consider if the rear won't drop as far as you want.

    Thanks,

    Brett

Low Range Offroad makes a 7/8 block with a 1 degree taper on 1 side. Pretty nice if u need just a little lift.

That's pretty much the way to do it, just make sure to measure before you tighten u-bolts all the way. (measure from the backing plates to leaf springs both sides to equal and front spring hanger to axle both sides) to make sure axle is centered.

I was thinking u could leave the tires on and just lift the whole rear up instead of dropping the axle to make room?

That would be the easiest way.

    Thanks,

    Brett

It can shift a little , align the centering pins and you'll be good to go, if the blocks don't have pins on them don't install them.:)

    Thanks,

    Brett

Don't rely on the center pins, still measure.
And what he said ( no pins no use)
