Cold bore hits are what you want as a hunter. Typically when we go paper punching we will bring 4-5+ rifles/guns. Shoot up to 3 rounds per and let the rifle ‘cool’ while we rotate to the next person and/or our next rifle. They tend to pull when they start warming up. It’s OK to have notes on how particular rifles react to particular loads/rounds. I worked with one guy that would put label maker tags for certain ammo and drop on his teenage daughters .223 buttstock. He said she only missed once and was humanely bringing home more deer than he and his 2 sons could year after year. Sounds silly but it works. All about shot placement and being comfortable.

Impossible. You don't have a carbon fiber barrel, 12 position adjustable stock, $500 bipod and 40x scope. Everyone knows those are the basic requirements to shoot that far.

Because no one has ever made a 1,760 yard cold bore shot before. And please... I get it. Stock rifle, magical, mythical 6.5 CM...

The .308 is my favorite rifle cartridge.

Not a hater, just a laugher. So many other calibers that do it just as well and some, even better. I appreciate the skill to make a ~1700 yard shot. But to say it's attributable to the caliber, that's a negative ghostrider.
