So today i have my 1-month service appointment that dealer scheduled me on day i bought my truck.
Curious as to what they check? I am going to ask them to check the transmission fluid and check torque on u-bolts. Truck has just over 900 miles

bring them the PDF, still may not check it though.

tell them the proper torque on the u-bolts, many still seem
to be clueless... my dealer said the factory specs are 110 ft. lbs.

I thought it was 52 ft lbs .. please don't tell me some dealers are tightening them over double the recommended torque ????

I agree with what member "The hammer" says about the transmission fluid level. @ OhioTaco68 rest your mind and don't worry about it.

The claim that the transmission is gonna take a crap for being low on fluid from the factory is without merit.
This is pure hysteria causing ppl to worry and buy $1500+ extended warranty.
There are literally millions of all makes/models vehicles with 1 qt. + low and non of them are having failures on account of it.
If they did, trust me, we, the whole world would all know about it.
Mine works fine, It’s not gonna be touched by a dealer tech to check the level unless it’s broken, or get a letter from Toyota requesting the level be checked.
By then, all their dealers will be fully trained and able to check it, and will most likely get an extended warranty for free, because they know it won’t fail from being a little low. It’s a very low risk bet for them.
Moreover, I’ll most likely trade in for a newer model before it has a chance to break after its too old and decrepit.
Of those ppl that did buy the extended warranty, they’ll most likely not needed it for the transmission, and will most likely NOT spend the full amount paid for the insurance on other repairs to their vehicle due to normal use.
But if you’re worried, have it checked and sleep well my friends
    Cheers!

Thanks and you are probably right, i've just always been one to check my fluids and make sure to keep them filled to proper levels. I was shocked to see no transmission dipstick in my new Tacoma.
Just dropped my truck off, tech acted kind of mad when i said " do they have it noted to check my transmission fluid? " he said " Yes but its not going to be low cause its a sealed unit " .. i then asked " what if it wasn't full when it left the factory? " ... he said he's never heard of that but they would check it

The claim that low transmission fluid could cause future problems with the unit carries more merit than your unsubstantiated claim that it won't. Substantiation: There is a reason they have Fill Levels for fluids on these systems. If it is not filled correctly it may cause damage and/or disrupt normal operations. There have been multiple members on TW and who knows how many others NOT on these forums with issues leading to transmission rebuilds and replacements already.

Don't think they did shit ... only had my truck for an hour and who knows how long it was actually in the shop .. prob 15 minutes LOL
paper printout said " 1st visit " and then showed transmission checked and full and ubolts torqued to spec .. i doubt they did a damn thing. Tech never talked to me nor did anyone go over paperwork. Just said " sign here and here's your keys "

They had mine for 45 minutes yesterday. I'm not going to worry if they did or did not. I do think the 6 month check up is lame. Toyota sends a book with the truck to check things off as the tech checks them. I laid my book right in the seat so he would have to move it when he got in my truck. I asked why he never checked nothing off and he said they do it on the computer. I'll go in for my yearly oil change and that's it. He assured me these 2.7's don't use a drop of oil. Good enough for me.
