    Well progress...............

I redid the whole rear end. I changed shackles and mounts and axle. I kept the 63's but i think i took to many leafs out LOL. I put a 67 inch wms to wms axle in. I also did disc brakes and 5.38 gears and also a limited slip. The rear is done until it becomes a trailer queen. Then ill lock it up with full time lockers. Also mounted shocks up and did trail gear rear frame kit

As far as the front goes im redoing the shocks. I just picked up some fox smooth body 14's for it. They might be a tad long but ill make them work. I NEED to put in the front gears so i can get this turd in to 4x4.

    T-Cases...........
I spent the cash and picked up a Taco Box. Im waiting on Davez offroad to come up with a triple stick set up for the taco box so i dont destroy my floor in my cab. Another idea that ive had is to run twin sticks and say screw it. Im tired of looking at the case sitting in my garage.

As far as driving it. I took in on the road and took it up to 70mph and it does good. The 5.38 are a little much for 37 but on the other hand it does burn rubber :D

Im also looking for a good set of lockout for the front axle that are 30 spline. I might end up just changing out the outter to 35 spline and make it stronger and more reliable

Clean up and level out. NO BLOCKS or any lame square stock up on the frame.

Little flex action not bad for 2wd. IN NEED OF 4x4 and my duals.

Can you take some detailed shots of your front suspension? Curious how the WIDE spring perch width on those axles worked out with the shackle mounts.

Also curious if your tires rub your front leaf springs at full steering.

I cant get picture yet due to me working out of town.

As far as how i did it i can give you some information

1st off depends on what axle you run. I ran the ford king pin hp 60 and the spring perch is 36.5 inches perch to perch.

I mounted my shackle under the frame instead of going threw the frame. I measured back to where i could land my shackles under the frame without cutting into the frame or doing a french shackle.

I ended up running a longer spring than a lot of people. I ran a XJ rear spring for the main leaf and s10 under that.

My tires do not rub at all on the leafs. I have 3.5 inch backspacing on my rims.

So now that i told you all that, i have another thought. REDO IT lol

I want to move my front hanger out 2 to 3 inches and run my shackles threw the frame and buy old man emu xj springs. I think that will gain me enough room to run 39.5

    BUT FOR NOW
Im going run with what i got until i find a deal on 39.5
Nothing rubs with 37 so im going to leave it.

I try to get some more pictures up of the dual case set up and more pictures or answer any questions that i can.

Sounds good, about what I expected. Ideally I'd put a 79 Ford D60 under the front of mine because it has a 31.5" perch width which would make running wheels with more backspacing more feasible without tires rubbing the springs. Unfortunately those axles go for $1200 and still need a full rebuild. Pretty sure I'd be able to find an 80's Ford D60 for much cheaper, just like you did. And I'd throw a 14 bolt out back geared to 5.38 with 40" tires.

Springs and spring placement isn't a problem. The problem comes when I need to decide what axle to go after LOL

Just get a new unit bearing D60 off a ford. Perfect axle. (Besides the obvious rockjock 60s)

I'd love to hear the answer to this! Why do you suggest a unit bearing axle? They are a pain in the ass to change wheel bearings when you need to, are a metric 8 lug pattern not the standard 8 lug, have ball joints, 36" wide spring perch width and most have stupid ABS sensors.

How easy is it changing a kingpin on the trail? ;)

Unit bearing axles have shallower hubs, keeping them from bashing off the rocks.

There are a few companies that make 6 lug adapters for the toyota and other adapters for the other trucks.

I'm not sure if they ALL have ABS sensors.... and even if they do. Cut them off.

Same with spring perch width, I am unsure of, but have you heard of welding? ..

Also kingpin style have a worse turning radius.

Clearly, unit bearing is better. Kingpin has it's advantages (more so in KOH races)

Also, why do rockjock 60s come with unit bearings and not kingpins? I guess they have poor judgement.

Kingpin are nice and simple but turning isnt the greatest but what to do expect with big tires to turn like a little toyota corolla.

With picking out an axle they are strong points and also weak points. It all depends on what YOU want from your truck. For me i wanted to be able to run my steering behind my axle so i dont bend shit. I rather hit the axle housing instead of my steering links.

Before you CUT ANY PART OF YOUR TRUCK for a sas do the homework find what you want to run and BUY IT ALL Before you cut it up. It will keep you from pulling your hair out.

Okay Im done ranting and raving.....

I call Davez Offroad ( http://www.davezoffroadperformance.com/store/ ) today to see if he could fab up a triple stick set up for my tacoma with the marlin box and the stock tacoma box behind it. As i come to find out I'm the 4th person to order one and he should have it made up middle of next week and shipped out. :D So i plan on heading 6 and half hours to go work on my truck and hopefully put my dual cases in and finally get some new drivelines made up and balanced :D I'm also going to mount my front shocks on. I think im going to stuff the 14 inch Fox smooth body's that i picked up from Poly Performance last week. So hopefully come August 1st ill be wheeling.

I have no clue on wheel base. I only get a weekend a month to go tinker on it due to working out of town all the time. I think this coming weekend im going to drag it to a buddy's and have him put in the front gears and the taco box so I can wheel the sob. I want to see if pushing it that far forward help or killed it. Now its just find some other tire that are bigger than 38s. I think I can fit a 40 with 2 inch back spacing on the rim and clear the leafs at full drop and full crank. I also think I might trim the fenders a bit and get the in cab and bed cage tied into the frame
