Thought I'd post another opinion as counter to the 1 month dislike thread.

I picked my truck up last week and couldn't be happier. This is the first new off the lot vehicle I've had for myself since 1975 and my first pickup. For a 4wd truck it rides well, is reasonably quiet, and so far all is good. The stereo (entune + option) is just fine for a vehicle stereo and the sound quality is as good as I need. The truck is tight with no rattles or shakes and while I wish the frame and other stuff underneath were beefier I realize that would add weight and take away from the economy (which isn't so good anyway). I'm sure the truck and bed is strong enough to handle any size beer cooler I throw in it, which will probably be the heaviest thing I end up hauling anyway. The truck cruises at speed just fine and the cruise control holds speed fine on hills without downshifting. In short, no real criticisms.

Several things I wish it had that I will fix in time. One is a rear bed light. Also would like a light for the glove box and an indicator for telling me the fog lamps are on. I will fix the last one with a switch that has an indicator light on it, the glove box I will probably leave alone and I haven't decided yet how to tackle the bed light (maybe under the rails led lights).

Anyway, glad to be here and soak up some of the knowledge available on the forum!

BeeRadd, like the bed lights! Were they string lights or did you use some individual leds? Where did you switch them?

I have always carried a headlamp with me. It's so handy for everything. I keep it in the cup holder and it even has a flashing mode for emergencies. Try it, your bed light problem may not be a problem after all .

I'm just hitting 4 weeks on Friday, and I'm just as excited about my Tacoma.. Love every second of it. I came from a 2014.5 Camry which had all the new bells and whistles in the cabin.. so I miss a few of those, but that aside, this truck is the best vehicle I've owned yet... I really like driving it just to drive it.

No light indicator bugged me at first. Then I noticed if the fog lights are on the button is pushed in below the trim and if it is off then it will sit above the trim. So you can simply feel around the button to see if its pressed in or out.

Im with you, Bernie. Picked mine up new last Monday and am quite pleased.

It checked all the boxes I needed it to. With a family of 4 it will be perfect for longer trips where we can easily throw in the luggage and bikes. I can easily haul our 2 sleds. Easily pick up any lumber for projects around the house. Perfect for hauling away yard waste w/o adding 30 minutes onto my day cleaning our SUV afterwards.

Best of all, I don't have to drive a full-size V8 truck(not that there's anything wrong with that). While I dont NEED a truck everyday of my life, I now own one w/o spending $40-50k and w/o having a full-size.

Does it win luxury or technology awards? No. But I don't care. For my needs and our budget this is by far the most practical choice.

Some people are analyzing this truck with the standard of a crew cab F150 Lariat...there's a reason it cost nearly $50,000 new. That truck should have more options...not even sure where I am going with this.

Anyways, happy to own this bad boy too. Planning on having this for awhile.
