Sounds good. It'll be great if you make it!

Yep. The route I mapped will take us through 3 stock capable dirt roads. We'll stop at a few points along the way to take pictures and whatnot. And then we'll end with some food/beer some place for whoever wants to join.

That is very kind of you. If you're okay with 7+ Tacoma guys hanging out at your house for a bit, I am in.

Midland 75-822 or Cobra 75 with a mag mount antenna. You won't need it, but it makes it a lot easier to communicate with everyone else.

I'm out of town for this one. I have terrible timing for the local meets.

We're driving down to Pismo the weekend after, if you're up for that.

Good to have you. No CB, no problem. And stock height is perfectly fine.

The Tacoma search is contingent on what my wife and I are doing with our 2015 VW Golf Sportwagen TDI as part of the diesel emissions settlement (emissions modification + restitution payment or buyback - we eat the sales tax if we do the buyback). If we do the buyback then we'd look at using the Tacoma as a replacement. We have a baby on the way next month so I have some hesitation about how the Tacoma would do for family vacations as we drive up to Oregon a few times per year and how it is comfort-wise.

All that being said, after staring at TW forums for hours and building Tacos online I have narrowed it down between the TRD OR and the TRD Pro (m/t is a deal-breaker so that limits my options and I want the V6 engine and 4x4) and I am pretty split on what to do. I would be perfectly happy (aside from maybe the grille) with the OR w/Prem Tech pkg, with my wife's particulars I may be more inclined for the Pro given the leather seats which would be more comfortable for her (yes that's a steep increase for the leather seats but I love the exterior look of the Pro and I imagine that the Pro will hold its value slightly better than the OR given fewer in production). I can get fleet pricing through my company which can get me a decent deal or I can go through Costco as well if either of those options would get me a better price than just reaching out to multiple dealers.

Not sure if anyone uses the Tacoma for family trips and has any say on comfort over an 8+ hour drive but any input would be appreciated (I may/should just post separately to not derail the meetup thread).

Too bad you can't make it out with us on Sunday and check out some of the trucks.

When I was buying my 2015, my local dealer said they won't do the Costco price on Tacomas...maybe that has changed.

From what it seems like, the participating dealer that was provided to me when going through the online process had Tacomas with the pricing so I guess that has changed. I did not ask about ordering one and if that would be covered under pricing however. And it's extremely difficult to find a 6-speed manual to test drive which I want to before committing. Can't come around this weekend as I have an eye Dr appt that morning but one of these meetups it would be fun to come by and check them out!
