10.20.2018 Houston Area Beach Meet

Damn, chance of rain looks like it has gone back up to 50%.


I guess let me get a show of comments from anyone who thinks we should reschedule for a weekend with better weather?

 

Okay guys...

As much as I dont want to I'm going to make an executive decision to reschedule this for another time.


The weather appears like it will probably be pretty crappy and also after looking into the bike event more it appears that cyclists will be all over the roads down there through the day and so any ferry rides back to the island will take a while as the riders will also be vying for space.


Anyone who still wants to make the ride should definitely go and have a great time but heads up on weather and the cyclists.


We will post a new thread for when we reachedule.

 

Well shit! I just got the Taco packed, came inside to relax and get online. Oh well! Another time folks!

On a brighter note, now I can have a few beers!

 

We might still be headed to the beach to fish. Not sure if we will bring both vehicles or just the taco. We shall see!

 

The only thing from it not being a minivan is the sliding doors.

Drove a minivan for work yesterday and it was surprisingly comfortable. Looked terrible and I wouldn't want one but I could see why people do.

 

I would never buy a real minivan. I'd pick up a SUV

 

You should definitely get an offroad capable vehicle at some point.

got to Buccees yesterday before i found out the meet was dropped. so i went in a spent like 20 bucks on food lol

 

OOPS! Luckily I found out friday night. Without a reason to get up early and head out, I had a few beers and slept in...

 

luckily it was only a 20 minutes drive back home.

 

also @CarmenSanDiego i talked to a Bolivar resident at work today and he said the beach is pretty much non existent do to the tide from these storms lately. he also mentioned theres a biker event in 2 weeks. maybe we should try to hit Bryan Beach soonish?

 

i drove a minivan for work last week and will again tomorrow. it was a newish dodge. nothing special but ok.

 

Lonestar Rally is the first weekend in November. If you're wanting to visit a circus, there's your chance.

 

no i'm suggesting we go the opposite direction

 

I would avoid anywhere close to the coast for 75 miles either direction that weekend. Just not worth it unless you are riding and in a group.

 

I might take the back way into gtown. Then park and uber to the rally
