My 2010 got the black coating in late '17, had the frame replaced in early '19 because they found a hole in the cab mount after I brought it in because the black coating was flaking with rust under it.

OP, IMO you have four options - 1. legal rout against the Honda dealer that sold you the truck. 2. Having the frame welded. 3. Finding a frame or donor truck and having it rebuilt. 4. Driving it as is and hoping it doesn't fall apart and/or a minor accident totals it.
I've never heard Tacoma replacing a frame after the time window has closed.

It's possible that the black coating was done by the previous owner way before 2020 and locked in the rust, in 2020 the dealer "did" the white coating (I don't know how easily it washes off) but didn't actually inspect the frame (people have reported dealers refusing to hammer the frame).

At some point Toyota updated the TSB to state that the inspection is visual only. No scraping or hammering allowed, and if Toyota sees evidence that the service department did so, they deny the claim. The original TSB states that hammering/prodding is to be done in specific areas, and also that all rust is to be removed prior to application of the Noxudol (black shit) and even lists suggested power and air tools to do so. I believe the primary reason the black Noxudol resulted in so many problems is because service departments were skipping or half-assing the labor on rust removal, since Toyota pays a flat fee for the service.

Because this is a TSB and not a recall, and Toyota is not at all interested in spending money or going after their own dealers, if the dealer f'd your frame with an incorrect TSB (i.e. sprayed over rust) you have no recourse except potentially suing the dealership, which is 100% not worth the time, money, and potentially multiple years of hassle, even if you have all the proof in the world that's what happened.

The most recent version of the TSB is "look at it only, gunk it up inside with the white shit, and apply the frame plug kit".

i might do this if it was a die hard person from this forum. That I interact with.

Unless a mechanic sees more then 50% Toyota 4x4`s in his shop they tend to be clueless about Toyota`s

In any case it is just a job in and out . No thanks

Can confirm the black CRC was what my 2010 got. I think in 2018 or 19, I forget. Found 2 holes April 2021 and got reframed

Pics in my album as well. Outside passenger rail right below Tacoma badge about 15mm, pushing with a finger caved it to 1x2 inches.

Bottom of passenger rail about 13mm where the exhaust hanger OEM was (that was hanging down and prompted me to crawl under for more inspection).

I don't know if they even lifted the truck and found anything else that my cursory glance missed (as I'm 2wd I couldn't get my fat ass under). I asked the service tech to write down those 2 holes in hopes of saving them having to risk the lifting. I was told they probably won't look anymore as one hole is enough but I can't be sure.

Unfortunately the extended warranty expired 12/2/2021 for our vehicle. I finally got them to provide us with the in service date.
I know I won't get anywhere with Toyota, will probably just have to find a fabricator in the area.

I'd only feel comfortable doing that to the dealership I purchased it from and they know it's got problems now so I don't think they would take it.

    Crap man that sucks!
Best bet is finding a shop that can fab and weld. Definitely go over it really well before putting a bunch of money into repairs. Drop your spare to check frame also.
Toyota coating just hides stuff to buy them time.

Far to many sales contracts have that fact hidden in the fine print if any major problems are discovered after the fact.

Pre purchase inspections and full road tests are very important.

    Best of Luck OP!:fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed:
