So guys I need some advice. I purchase my 2001 taco about 10 months ago. The frame was brand new at that time. The dealer replaced it during the buyback from the last owner. Since that time I have moved 2000 miles(from NH to TX) from the place I bought it. There is rust showing through on the frame at most of the welds. It stains the paint in some places and has broken through in others.

On the body itself around just about every drain-hole, bolt, and fitting there is rust.

    WTF?!

    Is this normal????

Damn. You sure they did a frame replacement and not just a coating? Either way I'd be throwing a fit and sending pictures to Corporate Toyota. Tsunami in mind...

I'll take some this afternoon and post them up.

I know they replaced it! The warning stickers for team lifting and all that crap are still on the frame!

Might have something to do with the salty air around where you live since it's right by the beach.

Call Toyota, they will most likely work something out with you. But also keep in mind that its a 12 year old truck. Some rust is to be expected especially if you bought it in the North East.

I'd like to see some pictures as well. I've seen some surface rust even on brand new trucks on the dealer lot, depends on what it is.
