I'll leave it up to Meso to sell his product. That guy has excellent quality products. I doubt he would even sell ten to one individual. He knows how the game works.

Talk about a downer on everything! 95% of people don’t need trucks either and I’m guessing your one of them.

I agree that he can spend his money how he likes. Still, I find it sad that most people don't save for retirement. Are you really equating investing in the stock market a Ponzi scheme? Seriously, investing in something that tracks the stock market over time gets you about 10%.... even factoring in the Great Depression and the recent slumps. I'm very curious as to what your solution is? Got a better way?

Wow yeah there are a lot of Debbie Downers here. Theres a lot of people that dont need a lot of things to survive. Its called the guilty pleasures of life.

And the guy comes on a site called TacomaWorld, an enthusiast website, to ask what he should do with $1k. Then gets responses like "put it in your 401k"

I supose if I go on a finance blog, they'll tell me to go get some new coilovers for my truck?

To the OP, i havent read this entire thread, but personally I'd get a set of chunky AT tires. Changes the entire look and feel.

Here's how I figure it: Step one: figure out what I want/need; Step two: save money to buy said thing. All extra money goes to pay down debt, invest, or replenish (limited) savings. OP has done step two before step one, so we are just pointing out that debts, investing, and savings should be the natural destination for the extra money rather than searching for a place to spend it.

I'm stuck between SCS wheels, prinsu rack w/ light bar combo, or saving for a lift down the road.

They usually sell out within minutes in the more popular colors. Took me 3 times before I was able to get some.

I said it before, get something small now so you don't feel like you had money and did nothing, then save the rest for what you really want to have (nice lift, whatever) and keep adding to it. You'll have much greater satisfaction from that lift if you had to save for it. Believe me, I know. Then just keep putting away moving forward for other mods. Waiting for a windfall to make mods is an exercise in frustration... Same for vacations, new tires, whatever...
