Just recently I put wheels and tires on my truck and I have a little bit of rub, it is very very minimal but annoying non the less, so im going to have to lift the truck ( I was going to anyway but not yet)
Again I started doing research an it turns out it is super hard to exactly know what kind of lift you are going to get from whatever kit you buy because of the million different variables that play into this.
The point is that we all use different shocks, struts, coils, spacers, leafs, blocks and we all have different trims with different equipment installed. And... suspensions settle so you never know whats going to happen.
I find it very hard if not impossible to know exactly how much lift each combination will give or how much it will settle, BUT!... BUT!...
There are so many of us here that I believe if we pooled all our data together somewhere (hint hint) we should be able to get a very good idea of how much lift you gan get from every combitation of shocks and coils or leafs.
All this information is already on here, except it is buried in thousands of different threads discussions and messages. I believe we can have a more elegant solution.
I want to make a chart and graph that shows the most common combinations of springs and shocks and how they affect the lift amounts in different trims of our trucks.
I have a 3rd gen TRD OR DCLB and I'm getting 5100's pretty soon so im going to start with that.

For now I will start the chart for 3rd gens with my info and I ask everyone and anyone who is willing to pitch in to simply reply with the following info:

    Year: '16, '17 etc...
Trim: SR, SR5, TRDOR, TRDS, Limited, Pro
Cab & Bed: AC, DC, SB, LB
    Drive: 4x2, 4x4
    Engine: 6 or 4
Coils (front): Stock or Aftermarket (specify)
Shocks (front): Stock or Aftermarket (specify)
    Spacers: Size (if any)
Leafs (rear): Stock or Aftermarket (specify)
Shocks (rear): Stock or Aftermarket (specify)
    Blocks: Size (if any)

(EDIT: Trying to steer away from turning this thread into a tire fitment war:duel:)

I like this idea. But it is well documented that the biggest tire you can run stock is the 265/70/r17. Get them bilsteins on!

*Edited to 265/70/r17 realized I made a typo.*

The real purpose of this is to have the lift information in a centralized easy to read format, not really to solve my lift problems. I will take suggestions though.

The problem is you have guys that are gonna argue their asses off over what fits and what doesnt. Then youll have the guys with TRD pros that think and claim they can run 33s without a lift. Its all over the place really. Also not all tires are exactly the same so you could have all the same specs., but the different branded tire has shorter sidewall lugs or more and they effect the situation you have displayed in your picture.

That being said, i appreciate your enthusiasm and hope it is fruitful. More information is always good for the mind.

I agree, there are multiple threads, however it does take a lot of looking to get any useful information. I attached a guide for the OME coils, and for the bilstein 6112's. I found them tremendously useful

They are courtesy of Marie at Headstrong Off-Road

Thanks for that @epluribusunom. I expect real world data to come close to this, but I also hope I can gather even more data on more combinations and even more detailed data to share with everyone. Feel free to pitch in :bucket:

Did your alignment tech put your caster all the way up? That might be why. I have a dclb off road too and had 265/75/16 when I was stock and had zero rubbing.

Trimming would be easier and cheaper than lifting and would have less impact on your ride quality and driveline components.

Agree, I might just remove the mud flaps but also I would probably set 5100 to just level, not max lift.

Even with a lift you may still rub

It will when the suspension is compressed and I'm turning at that same angle. But that will happen a lot less often.

    all tore up already
Do realize with every bit of info about peoples actual trucks and measurements theres still a ton of variables. Whats the alignment settings? Wheel offset? How much cargo? Full tank or empty tank of gas. When you say no rubbing do people actually mean through motion will not rub? Or the trip from tire store to starbucks didnt cause rubbing? Gl with your search for knowlege op, but know there is roughly zero percent chance you will find the info you seek. Better to gain a better understanding of suspension and vehicle dynamics and apply what you know

i've got the dcsb OR with 265/75/16 duratrac's and had bad rubbing when turning the wheels to where the edge of the tire is closest to the fender liner and hitting brakes or accelerating.
    stock alignment with 1.25 spacers

You're forgetting tire scrub lines, maybe.

What a lot of people don't understand on this forum is that lifting doesn't necessarily solve rubbing issues, your wheel wells are the same size. Trim fenders/cab mounts, get better clearance bumpers, change tire size, to eliminate rubbing.

I have a stock off road, 265/70 r17 rubs VERY SLIGHTLY at full lock, on a downhill. (basically majority of the vehicle weight has to be on the affected corner)

There's your issue. Why the fuck are you running spacers on a 265/75? Take that shit off.

because it looks amazing and i barely had to cut that much fender liner to make it stop rubbing.
also i hate the look of wheels that are sunken in the weel well, i think it looks like shit when there flush or poking a 1/2" also i plan to do a lift uppper, UCA's and cmc anyway to fit larger tires down the road.

i honestly didn't read anywhere that just putting the 1.25 spidertrax with 265/75 would make it rub, but it's not that bad at all.

down the road when i get different wheels ill take them off.
