None of my vehicles are Toyota, two Fords and a Suzuki (they don’t even make cars anymore o_O). Last personal vehicle (a Ford) 160k when I let it go. I’m not here declaring anything is better than the other just to me 100k seems doable in just about anything. I can’t count how many Chevrolet fleet vans I’ve seen sent to the big auto lot in the sky with 200k plus miles on original engine and trans with the entire rest of the van falling apart. 500k no... 175/200k is realistic with normal maintenance.

Fleet stuff isnt a fair comparison! We run fords, chevys, rams, freightliner, and peterbilts, and I've seen them all go 200k+, and ive also seen them all have engine replaced sub 100k. Got a freightliner A2 right now at 98k with a blown head gasket.
But we aren't talking about these. Take a look around the forum, there are lots of complaints about this truck. And a lot of people have doubts about reliability. Also, a lot of low mileage 3rd gens, and a lot of people trading this off for what ever reason. Just trying to show 100k is easy in these trucks.

Trading off because the truck doesn’t live up to it’s looks is more accurate. Looks awesome, everything else ehhh :notsure:

Idk, I point the thing, and it does it. Even with a camper behind it.
But I didn't come from a full size heavy duty truck, or a sports car, or a luxury car. And I'm very familiar with v6's

It’s a great truck that has evolved at a pace that a true Toyota truck fan would appreciate.

The turd gen gets a lot of hate because it's cool to hate it. I've owned all gens and the 22re (pre taco). Yes the 3rd gen has it's flaws just like every other gen. I can afford to sell my taco and get something else but I don't want to.

People who trade their 3rd gens in because it was unbearable to drive or they thought their lives were in jeopardy are weak snowflakes. If you don't like the 3rd gen and think it's a piece of shit, fine. You have every right to sell it but don't be a snowflake and say it's unbearable, that's being a sensitive Sally and those people need to man the fuck up

At 41k so almost half way! The 2gr is a proven motor so I have confidence that it will get past 100k trouble free easy

It lives up to its own legend brah. These behave and perform like all the other gens. Slow and steady. Anybody who expected anything else is a fucking toyota newb.

    Durability concerns? Toyota? What!?

Doesn't make sense- I know Toyota's to be one of the best long term vehicles out there. I'll rarely tow with mine (and when I do they are like 7 mile trips) and put on anywhere from 500-700 miles per month. I fully expect this thing to get well over 200k. Am I wrong?
