So people here actually get there oil tested?
Ive been doing oil changes for 40 years on countless vehicles and machinery. Thousands. Im not patting myself on the back as Im sure many of others here have done the same. I think Ive had one instance where a buddy sent his oil in for testing and that was on a 850hp drag car that he had the motor just built.

Other than that, good chart. The frugal economist in me thanks you. The cynic in me says whats the point of this....:D

Yeah, but mine also told me that if it has tits or tires, sooner or later it’ll give you problems. I still like tits.

Tits give you more problems than tires...

I sent oil in to be tested on my Lexus that I just got. I wanted to know if the 136k on the clock was from the high school kid I got it from that didn't know how to wash a car, or someone more competent that actually knew how to change the oil or at the very least took it to a competent dealer.

I've thought about checking the Tacoma, just to see because I plan on keeping it for the long haul, but I'm also super analytical and track and trend everything from fuel economy to total cost of ownership, separating that out into maintenance and mods.

Nothing wrong with being analytical. Good for you.
Im just surprised that its even a thing.
But Im also not, cuz overkill is the flavor of the day.

What would sending in the oil in a used car tell you?

It’s another way of taking the engine’s pulse in a manner of speaking. You can find out if there are a lot of metal particles - if so there is engine wear, water, coolant (bad head gasket) or excessive fuel from blow by. All of these inform the condition of the motor.

I saw this video, and other ones that tested mobil 1 awhile back. It just confirms what i've been posting all along. I think the toyota god needs to see it also.
