Hey guys my 120 button wont work/light up at all, in any position. I did the power outlet mod over a month ago and the anytime fog mod just the other day... Im thinking it had something to do with that? Going to hunt for fuses later today and inspect the plug on the back of the switch. Anything in particular I should be looking for? Has anyone experienced this before? Is there a specific fuse I should check? Please help! Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Edit- Fixed! replace the gray relay in the little fuse box!

Mine stopped working as well, but haven't looked into it. Mine will light up but turn off right away after releasing the button.

Those are the symptoms I read about in the few threads I was able to find on this, not much info. Mine wont even light up at all :annoyed:
I've done a ton of electrical mods lately so this is most likely gunna be a bitch to hunt down :bananadead:

Nothing aside from the generic "check your fuses and connections" response unfortunately...

Since you've done various electrical mods. This is the most likely candidate. Check all the connections on the AC outlet you put in the cab. Hitting a bump just right could have jostled something loose. This is the reason I started to solder, you know your getting a good connection that will last.

Have you plugged any "power hogs" into your outlet? Maybe you overloaded the factory inverter? Not sure what the symptoms are when that happens but your owners manual does go over how to reset it.

It definitely wasnt overloaded. I did the anytime fog and dome/map light mod a few days ago and did the outlet about a month ago. I will report my findings since no one seems to have a sure answer

I suspect a short on the inverter output which is crowbarrimg the inverter, or a loose connection on the inverter.

Just went through this with lights going on when pressed but not engaging. Mine was under warranty and they thought it was the inverter. Ordered a new one and same thing so they called tech support (they have their own to Toyota) and was told to check a circuit which powered the inverter and it came down to a relay AC socket. 90080-87024 was the relay number.

I haven't done any mods with that circuit or the fog circuit. However, you can damage the fog relay when doing the conversion and that may be the problem. I'll have to check tomorrow to see which relay they replaced under the hood.

Alright guys just got done tearing my truck apart. Fuses and connections were good. I think @weendoggy might be on to something because this did happen RIGHT after the fog mod. Anyone know what else I can check to confirm its the AC relay in question??

@weendoggy was it the blue relay in the little mini fuse box next to the big fuse box?? Did you just replace it with a new one and it fixed your problem?

If it's easy enough to do you could remove the anytime fog light mod and check if your power outlet works. I think you also mentioned you performed the dome/map light mod. If you're not sure if your inverter worked after doing that mod I'd reverse that one as well. Start backing out the mods one at a time until you find the culprit (this assumes everything was working before the mods). You said you already checked the fuses and connections as that would be my first suggestion.
And I have to ask but was your truck running or in the second key click position when you tried to turn on the inverter?

Ya im almost positive it has something to do with the fog mod because the other mods were further back and working fine. I can reverse it in a few minutes but dont really know how to test that relay ( since its just a little blue box with prongs sticking out). Guess I can just order another one since they cant be more than a few dollars. I tried it in every position possible including while driving. Should I be looking for anything in particular when I pull the relay?

Just went out to check. The relay is in the small box behind the large fuse/breaker box under the hood. It's a light gray color and is nearest the engine side. It has 4 legs, 2 large, 2 small.

Verified this by taking it out and the lights will light on the switch but not stay on. Put the breaker back in and all is good. Hope this helps. The breaker is less than $20, but mine was covered under warranty.

Look / smell for electrical burns. Make sure you didn't bend any pins in the fuse/relay box. If you have a multi-meter you can ohm the relay out. Probably best to check a YouTube video on how to do that.

Also listen for the relay to click when you press the fog light switch on and off. If you don't hear it click it's probably stuck and needs to be replaced.

I appreciate your help with this man, slowly but surely I am narrowing this down. The fog mod works and still does perfectly. The outlet button does not click at all, it's a soft push. So I'm thinking one of the pins got messed up when I pushed it back in?

Glad to help out. The click you should hear is the relay clicking (not necessarily the switch clicking). But if your fog lights are working okay then the fog light relay should be okay.

If you removed any wiring from connectors definitely check to make sure you didn't accidentally pull a wire out of the connector housing or bend a pin in the process of reconnecting the plug into the connector.

One of the fog light wires piggybacks into the AC Relay which controls the power outlet switch as @weendoggy stated, So I think when I did the mod I fucked up the AC relay. Getting off work soon will test out theory here shortly :fingerscrossed:

Well turns out it was the fog mod! When I put the AC relay back in, it pushed one of the legs all the way in. I pulled it out and plugged it in. Now it is doing the same light up symptoms that @Rattletrap66 and @weendoggy experienced. Ordered a new relay on ebay for 4 bucks so hopefully it works. @weendoggy all u did was replace the relay and it worked correct?
