    HIGH TRANSMISSION FLUID TEMPERATUE WARNING

    check engine light
3 safety feature icons light up
    traction control light
    Message.. Stop engine see dealer

This all happened while sitting at a major intersection in the pouring down rain.
Engine would restart but only idle. Transmission would go in drive but if you gave it ANY gas it would die.

How do you get a high temp. trans. warning if no fluid leak, not pulling a load , 50 degrees , and stopped at a red light? Dealer gave me a new Tacoma to drive and paid the tow bill.

    Any guesses or comments?

Do you have the tow package with the trans cooler? Maybe a sensor/computer issue.

Low from the factory. Common problem on here with 3rd gens and even some 2nd gens with the auto

It's up on their rack with several people looking into it.

Sometimes they’re low from the factory. Tell the dealer to properly check the level, Trans has to be at a certain temp.

If it was low from the factory how did I drive it 1056 miles without a problem? Confused I'll post a copy of the service done to the truck.

Pretty sure those are all the symptoms of a bad crank position sensor.

It’ll drive just may show issues later.

See what they say. They’ll pull the codes.

What made al the other icons and lights come on, they were not related to the transmission. Strange.

It’s most likely what others have said, probably a sensor. Low fluid level won’t make the warning lights come on, was just letting you know to have them check the level while they’re at it

Curious, what dealer (I had a bad experience at the one I'm expecting to hear)?

    What intersection?
