For those of you that think higher octane gas is a waste with no added benefit, try adding 5 gallons of 108 octane fuel to a full tank of 93. I have found that these trucks DO benefit from 93 octane and above. Yes there is more power and I can definitely feel it.
Now let the haters and 87 users prove me wrong.
The computer Does pull timing to compensate for the added octane.
Yes Yes Yes it is unleaded!

It's still a Ford. No more for me. I learned the hard way.

This is excellent first hand analysis. I was truly questioning the charts so it is great to have better data. What is the mean engine temp at 3800 rpm?

I had some left over and wanted to use it before winter. Drag racing is over for the season too. I also use it in my bike and riding season is over too.

What is your tire temps when you add 4 lb of air traveling at 70 mph?

According to my sensors, after adding 4 pounds of air, my tires are exactly 87.3 celcius (190 farenheit) at 70 mph cuz i corner like a motherfaka

Thank you for including the use case. I was going to ask OP what variants he pref, I do find your empirical analysis a bit questionable. Was your initial TP already out of range?

Anytime. In fact it wasnt out of TP range, i like to run my tires overinflated because i have a trd Sport and i need that stiff ride at those high speeds.

You know, this 3.5 is no joke.

    From Hemmings.com:

Tech 101 – Octane: the facts and the fiction behind those higher-priced fuels

"Any discussion about octane invariably leads to statements from some cars’ owners that their engine performs better when they use the 91 or 93 (or higher) fuel blends in their vehicles.
For most modern, computer-controlled cars on the road today, this perception is more mental than it is factual. For classic car owners, octane can make a difference from an engine-efficiency standpoint; however, the octane rating of your gasoline has very little to do with the horsepower or torque output of your classic engine as is often alluded to in these conversations."
