10k miles on my ‘23 TRD Pro AT

So far, loving the truck and the slight mods I’ve done:

1. Dual ARB under hood compressor with under hood switch
2. Set of Desert Does It seat jackers (life changers)
3. Set of 5 (replaced spare) BFG KO2s in LT265/75 R16.
   
4. Mounting bracket to keep spare in bed of truck; had to buy myself a slider bracket for the back side of the bed since G3 Tacoma don’t come with that bracket. Got it from a gen2 Tacoma and it fit perfectly
5. Removed predator tube steps (broke my steps off on first off-roading trip)
6. Ordered new Wescott Designs rock sliders. 20degree with top plates

What I’m not happy with

1. Driver Seat in wearing a little more than I would have expected. I’m very good at not ‘sliding out’ but it still shows excessive wear.
   
2. I have a center consoles safe that i hate and don’t use. I didn’t even know my build came with it. Unless you absolutely need it, don’t get it.
   
3. Lastly, AND THIS IS A BIG ONE, my truck shakes excessively at high speeds. I think it’s the tires and balancing, but I haven’t been able to get them balanced well. So, beware bigger tires may cause this. I’m currently working with dealer to get this resolved
4. [there are some other things I don’t like, but won’t ‘complain’ because I knew what I was getting]

Overall, love the truck! Just wish there was a way around the Arizona Pin Stripes because it looks like it is taking a paint beating.

 

Doesn't the Pro a have power driver seat?

 

They also don't come with a console safe lol

 

I don't think any trim does, it's just whether or not the dealer decided to waste some more of your time and money. My TRD OR came with the safe but I pulled it out immediately.

 

Never seen any desler do that up here.

I also never understood the dealer installed side steps on lifted trucks like TRD pro....why hurt the ground clearance of a lifted truck..makes no sense

 

it does have power seats, but the jackers still helped my seating position even more.

 

They actually offer this as an option, the safe was a port install not a dealer install [detailed on my window sticker] (a Toyota part). Very good quality and install. It just limits my center console space and now I have two doors to reach through when getting in there. More of a nuisance than a feature for me.

 

You can remove it with four screws at the bottom. It comes out very easily.

 

… another thing I didn’t know was that I can’t use my center console USB cable for Apple CarPlay. I’m limited to the one under radio. Picky complaint, but…

 

I’ll likely do this, just been lazy/busy. Anyone interested in buying it. I haven’t even set the combination.

 

Yeah, the side steps were a waste for $600+ dollars. They are also shin busters if you are not careful.

This started with the KO-Bros? If so, who put them on and have you reached back out? I ask because I am on my 2nd set of 265/70-R17 and have been great tires without vibrations are high speeds. Are they louder than OEM, yup, but have been a great tire, so I'm just got them again.

Sounds like you bought from a Gulf States dealer.

Padding up the profit with fluff is a hallmark of them and SEToyota both.

 

I've got a 2023 TRD OR. It has the power seat, but when I drove it my back and knees got so sore that I thought I'd have to get rid of it, and I felt like I was sitting in a hole. But then I found the seat jackers, lifted the front 1.5 inches and the back 1/2 inch, now it's nearly the most comfortable rig I've ever had and I don't feel like I'm sitting in a hole!

 

You have leather seats right?

If you don’t clean them regularly, the soil on the seat is abrasive and will scratch/wear the leather.

I clean and condition my seat once a week or so and 5 years later it still looks great.

 

How much you want for it?

 

Got any pics of your mounting bracket for the spare? Custom built? I'm looking for ideas...

 

Have you driven the truck 10k with excessive shaking? If so that's nuts. I got 5 miles when I switched tires and went right back and handed them the keys.

 

What leather conditioner do you use?
