I was installing the Zevo reverse lights and I torqued the head too much and broke it off. Any idea in the thread pitch so I can replace it?

    Thanks in advance,
    M

Take one of the other bolts with you to the hardware store.

I agree. Common sense answers are ridiculous. Especially since you have to go to the store to get the part anyway.

Folks are just nuts aren't they?

PS, what's an ECT button? Don't have one of those in my truck. Is it related to lugnuts? Because I'm missing 4

Specifically which bolt? Is this a bolt for the taillamps? If you have a picture I will remove one and see if I can get the info for you.

I looked in the factory service manual. As expected, it doesn't tell you the length or thread pitch for those bolts. I could go out and pull one of mine to figure it out for you, but then, you can do that for yourself. I came back to the thread to post that, but by then @TacoTim85 had already replied telling you much the same thing. The "rough crowd at TW" helps those that help themselves. ;)

That’s pretty much the way I would have handled it too. Removed another bolt to try to match it at the hardware store. I recently upgraded my taillights to the pro and I believe the bolts are a very course thread.

    10mm head bolt's are 6x1.0mm as for the length I'd say 20mm

Thanks for looking in the service manual. I spent a lot of time as a lurker before signing up for this site. What I found was If I wanted to know something in-depth like the highest lumen lights I can get, or what to regear my diff to for running 35” tires or even what MPG to expect the answer is had in moments.

I figured this would be something simple that has happened before and someone would say “oh yeah, 10mm 28 pitch 2.25 inches.”

No offense was taken and I will remember that stupid questions will get stupid answers.

When I make the trip to the hardware store I will post up what I found.

    Cheers!

As for Toyota bolts they run like this 95%of the time
    8mm head is 4mm
    10mm head is 6mmx1.0
    12mm head is 8mmx1.25
    14mm head is 10mmx1.25
    17mm head is 12mmx1.25
    lug studs are 12mmx1.5
    length well that all depends

Can't undo three bolts without breaking shit, lips off forum member that gives the obvious solution you should have come up with before logging on.

    Figure it out.

Wait. Isnt there an extra tail light bolt that you can just remove and use? On my 2020 there is. It is the 2nd from the bottom. Just use that one.

It absolutely was not a stupid answer. I just did this on another unrelated project. I needed a bolt and instead of asking on the internet I took a matching bolt to the hardware store, found a nut that fit and found another bolt to fit the nut. Feed a man a fish, he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish, he eats for a lifetime.
