I notice everyday on a certain part of the freeway on my way back from work that my mpg decreases and the truck feels like it's working harder to hold its speed when the road levels out after cresting a small hill.

Just got 12.9 pulling 3700 lbs for 200 miles flat terrain.
    Large KO2 tires no airdam.
    Pulls fantastic.

As many have already pointed out, wind is your enemy. Also, yeah that's not a big trailer but it's not exactly light either.

I get the same MPG pulling my 6x12 enclosed or my dad's 5x10 flatbed. It doesn't matter.

Speed is your enemy. I can get 15mpg doing 60. I get about 10 doing 70.

Just for shits and giggles, what gear were you running at 70 in?
