I am in the market for my first Tacoma. A local dealership has the exact truck I want in the 2011 version. They offered to sell it to me for $300 below invoice. I told the salesperson I wanted to see the 2012 model before I made a decision. I understand there are some minor exterior changes to the grill and headlight, but I am in interested in the new Entune entertainment system. When I asked about the pricing on the '12, relative to invoice, I was told the price for the '12 has gone up AND to plan on paying $500 over invoice for the '12.

So....$300 under invoice for the '11 versus $500 over for the '12. Does this seem about what you all are hearing.....for those in the market for a new Taco.

Anybody hearing good things or bad things about the forthcoming 2012?

    Thanks.

Apparently the Entune thing is only coming with a 3 month free subscription, after that if you want full functionality, it'll cost you a monthly fee. Much like the Satelite radio

^^^ like pogi says.. Entune aside, in the end you will recoup more than the $800 difference between the two. The price is right about where I was quoted for the '12 also. I'm getting mine Oct. 1st-ish.. cant wait!

He is saying, in his opinion, the 2012 is ugly. He owns an '09 so he has some bias weather he admits it or not. Personally the '12 look is growing on me the more I see it. If you like it, then go for it! I'm seriously contemplating a 2012 as well for my first Tacoma purchase.

I also agree with the above statement that the difference in owning a '12 rather than an '11 in regards simply to resale value will make up for the difference in price. ALSO keep in mind the salesman is TRYING to sell you the '11 to get it off his lot. If you come back in two months you may be able to get a '12 for invoice or less.

You will pay a premium for the '12 now, because of supply and demand. Wait a few months and you will get it for invoice or maybe some discount under that. If they still have '11s in stock by the end of the year you will get a really good deal on them then - but your choices will be limited.

This thread is about opinions now isn't it ?

I don't have to form my opinion based on the year of truck that I own , that's retarded .

I agree, why is there a question of his opinion based on his year of truck?

I have the 11, like the looks better, but if i was in your position i'd opt for the 12. I've been in a similar situation in the past and regretted not getting what I perceived to be the updated model.

I waited and waited to see what the 2012 would look like, then this past week we all finally saw it. Earlier today I traded my 09 in for a new 2011. Why? the deal and because I dont want to wait forever for relentless to fab a 2012 bumper up. The only reason I traded in the fist place was to get an OR model in place of my sport.
