How long can I run something from the bed to plug before it loses power with the engine off and the accessory on.

I tried to rig up a live bait well in the bed of my truck and after a couple of hours of the pump running the truck shut the battery off I’m assuming in an effort to conserve the battery from draining.

I don't know, but accessory mode always shuts off after "a while" to conserve battery.

A bit annoying if you're listening to tunes while working on the truck...

The answer is in your Owner's Manual though.

I discovered a terrific use for the bed outlet yesterday:

Hot air rework station. In a truck!

I have several experimental circuit boards hanging from harnesses in my cab. One of them had the wrong value surface mount resistor, and it would be a pain to pull the board, take it to the bench, change the part, reinstall.

So I hauled the solder rework station out to the yard and did the work in the truck.

It draws 240W peak. Worked perfectly.

Bonus: this might be the tiniest functioning part replacement ever performed in a 3g Tacoma.
