    Hi all,
I have a 2016 with auto and recently passed the 11K miles mark.
I haven't had any strange behaviors from the trans, and I chalked this up to my conservative driving style. I accelerate, decelerate, and drive pretty slow. (also don't tow anything)
However, last weekend I was late to drop my daughters off at their dance competition and I was driving like a maniac all over the highway. In the 45 minute drive I probably put more wear and tear on my truck than the previous year of driving. However, my transmission still held out like a champ.
I'm curious to hear if anyone on TW has a 2016 auto that ran into issues after the ~10K mark. Or (hopefully) can I assume that something went wrong at the factory and I have a completely functional and problem-free transmission. Dare to dream.
    Thanks,

Got to admit. I was very unhappy with my Tacoma TRD 4-4 when I first got it. Had the transmission TSB done and got some improvment. I now have 14k miles and the truck is doing much better and kinda grown on me now. Truck running better as I log more miles.

Enjoy your trucks while you can because a lot of people will tell you why you shouldn't.

I just got my 10k service (~9700mi) this past weekend and so far have no complaints! Never had the TSB done, and honestly I'm not even worried about it. I've off roaded, been to the snow a bunch of times this year (going to mammoth again this thursday too Woo!) and the truck is holding up just fine. I wouldnt worry about it man. Its a Toyota, and you have a warranty. Enjoy it!

Curious to know why you drove like that all of sudden that day?

'16 SR DC4x4, with 10k. I had the TSB done because it overshifted and then would not up shift in cruise control after down shifting. No issues since TSB.

I live in the SF Bay Area and had to drive my daughters to a dance performance in Santa Clara. There was some miscommunication between my wife and me (I was wrong, of course) as to what time my daughters needed to be there. We ended up leaving about 15 minutes later than we should have, so I had to turn an hour drive into a 45 minute drive.

I drove my 06 v6 auto hard for 160,000mi. It had lots of quirks and annoying behaviour but never failed in any way.

My brother has 291K on his 2003 4runner 4.0L 4-speed auto which drives great. I dont know if the trans has ever been serviced before.

11k is nothing. Has the Tacoma sunk that low that we are getting excited for 10k miles of driving without major failure? I guess so.

No they have not. The small minority of people who love to come on this forum and complain about everything give the impression that the 3rd gen Tacoma is falling apart. It's flat out false. The majority of people who are happy with their trucks have better things to do than to come on here and talk about.

2nd gen owners that are like sharks smelling blood in the water whenever a stupid thread about more complaints don't help either.

Don't be so hyper sensitive to defend your Third Gen. There have been a fair share of issues with these trucks. Would I go so far as to say they're "falling apart"? Hell no. Am I less satisfied with my third gen when compared to my first gen? Hell yes. I've never been to the dealer so many times with any other Toyota I've ever owned (Camry, 4Runner, Tacomas, etc). Yea I am just ONE person but look around the forums. I never saw this much fall out with the 2nd gen yet that was probably the biggest makeover of the truck since its inception.

No issues for me at about 8 thousand miles, 16 DCLB OR AT, I feel the same as the OP, did I get lucky or do I just not notice the issues? I feel like my truck will last forever, just like the previous gens. My biggest concerns is all the computers, not the drive train or engine. But that's just my experience. Also never had the TSB just as a reference.
