    Has anyone tired to wire in the AlphaRex DRL harness into the factory DRL wire, as it would then power on/off from the light stalk on the steering column?

    AlphaRex instructs you to wire DRL into IGN fuse so it comes on once the car is powered on. I would like the ability to turn headlights completely off via steering column light stalk.

    Just want to see if anyone has tried this method with success.

    Thanks for the help!

    I don't think so, the switch is all just inputs for the Body ECU. You could maybe use the DRL input to the turn signal flasher with a relay but I'm not sure if it's a pull up or pull down signal.

    By adding a fuse, relay and wires and tapping into the DRL control wire on the main body ECU.

    Is 1M inside the cab? By the fuse box to left of steering wheel?

    Just tried tapping into the green/red DRL wire, had a current through my new tapped line, but the DRL won’t turn on. They will come on in parking lights and full headlights, but not DRL signal.
    I even took the tap out and still have no power in the DRL wire.
    Any thoughts on this?

    Got grill lights wired up on really with DRL wire as positive trigger source….
    Works amazing through all light sequences expect for halogen low beams (all bulbs on)….the grill lights turn off but DRL/turn signals stay on.
    My wiring is as follows:
    Positive grill lights -> 87 relay
    Negative grill lights -> grounded
    86+30 relay -> battery positive
    DRL trigger -> 85 relay

    any thoughts why grill lights turn off when final click on light stalk?

    OEM DRL turn OFF when LOW Beams are selected.
    The aftermarket headlights DRL's might get juice from parking circuit also.

    Wired up grill lights to turn on with parking lights....wanted to have them on with DRL, but seems like they would turn off once halogen low beams are activated.

    Was able to run a new DRL tapped wire from cab into engine, so I may be able to wire Aplha-Rex's to be switched on with light stalk. We will see...

    to be continued

    Big Red, I cautiously will say, and yours may be different, I have a 2010 and installed the Alpharex Crystral LED headlights.

    Mine came with a little black box as part of the Alphrex wire harness. Initially, I attempted to keep it simple, using the oem DTRL wires to do oem style DTRL. Pretty much did not work as planned.

    I did call Alpharex and spoke with the rep. Pretty much, the black box needed to be wired up as they say. I wound up find a +12v power and switched +12v power in the underhood fuse / relay box.

    The operation of the Alpharex lights do that sequential thing when doing door locks, followed by white DTRL and white sequential LEDs on to illuminate the front of the truck when approaching in a parking lot, etc.

    Then, once started, and DTRL illuminate, depending upon if headlights are on or off, you get either bright or dimmed DTRL.

    There is also a pretty long delay when locking the doors before the white parking lot lights go off.

    Overall pretty content with mine. Better light output than my worn oem (replaced several times) oem halogen lights.
