    Hey everyone
Looking to get a group together to run Stampede and play in the snow on Sunday the 15th. Meet in Tacoma 8am and drive up. Willing to meet others along the way. Bring recovery gear if you have it.

Update: looks like the plan is

Tacoma 8am 46th and center home depot
    Eunamclaw 9am
Then head to the greenwater side of the trail to start.
Alternate meeting at Jeanne Hansen community park for those further north (also at 8, leaving at 8:15), and that both convoys will be meeting up at the Enumclaw Safeway before heading to Green water?

Please let me know for sure if you are going and where we are meeting up. I'll update it to this first post.
    Thanks

I have to teach my SO how to use CC, MTS and 4-LO this weekend so I might poke my head up there to see how it looks

Isn't this where Jim and Meg slid off the road last weekend?

You're right, it is. Speaking optimistically, maybe the addition of significant snow could help conditions ? It sounded like Jim and Meg's biggest problem at the time was ice combined with a steep grade. Probably depends on how much traffic it sees.

Google is currently telling me that Stampede Pass RD is closed. Not sure if that's normal since I'm new to the off-roading scene

Is Stampede like a bunch of forest service trails with snow?

It's somewhat like fire service roads, but alot of the roads are really wide and open, some really steep parts. It's about 28 miles long. It took me 2.5 hrs w no snow, so with snow could be a bit longer. It would be cool to have a nice group of rigs to go, especially if a few had winches :)

I'll try to have a manual winch and other gear which is better than no winch at all (and A LOT cheaper)!

Are we talking 10 ft come along or do you have something like a 30 ft power puller?

Come-along, so short reach, but better than nothing. He/she who has a power winch or 30ft puller will be preferred.

True. Newbie question, but can you just rig a tow strap to the end of the come along for more reach? Obviously you would only be able to pull them the distance of the come along cable but I was more curious if there's any safety issue in attaching a strap
