Wondering best way to transport 12 foot kayak in access cab 3rd Gen inside bed. Have ARE MX topper. In bed with propped up on up tailgate? Leave topper hatch window down?

I have a 13 foot kayak with a 6’ bed access cab with a topper. I have roof racks and typically put my kayak on the racks so I have room for gear storage/cooler in the bed.

You could probably get away with having it in the bed with the tailgate down. Bed extenders that fit in the receiver hitch work well too. I’ve done that in the past too. Kinda depends on the kayak and if you need to carry any other kind of gear like fishing gear, cooler, etc.
