I would personally of added a YEEEHAWWWW in response to the scientist of rocket's post and may of mentioned Busch beer in an affectionate tone midway to keep his interest.

not illegal on private road. I point my muzzle up. Would rather not have a bullet in my tranny. Plus I do want dirt in my barrel.

That picture needs showed to everyone who handles or will handle a firearm.

    Man.

I've had one accidental discharge. Gun was pointed in a safe direction, and angled down to the ground. Lever Action browning BL-22. Pulled the gun up to take a shot at a squirrel. Squirrel moved, I took the gun down, to de-cock it, and my thumb slipped off the hammer. Shot into the ground, but it scared me.

Well, if you want to go putting star gazing holes in your roof by all means, if you feel like taking a chance of that thing getting pointed at you or your buddy or worse, your family member, have at it.

Do I realize there are areas in the world you can have a loaded gun in a vehcile? Absolutely.

As a rule, its an unsafe practice, and just plain dumb.

How long does it take to jack a shell in a gun? Less time than it does to unbuckle your seat belt or open a door.

Why doesn't everyone quit trying to cause an argument by picking apart everything that is said, and going into your pseudo internet lawyer mode and just realize a loaded long gun in a vehicle is a bad idea.

Every hunter education course in this country teaches that.

Its the same as going over a fence, they teach you to unload your gun before you do, does everyone do it? No. Do people die every year in the field from this exact cause? Yes

You do the math, and continue with your practices and when you become a statistic, the rest of us will deal with the next bullshit law that comes out to stop people without common sense.
