anyone with first hand experience getting one to fit? I have the plastic out (back wall and back of seat) and the 10" fits but need to cut the child seat bracket off to even try a 12" prefab box. Did yours fit? Lemme know, please

I used a Kicker 12” comp rt loaded box and it’s the absolute biggest that could fit back there. I had to cut the restraint points. I also had to remove the plastic backing on the seat. Use the dimensions of this to see if the JL will fit

JL box is thicker on top dimension...may just cut the part and go fit it at the JL dealer in town...

Well that cross bar is what keeps it from going back any farther. And you can't go cutting that. How much thicker is the JL? I saw a post somewhere showing how someone put 1/2" metal spacers on the rear seat bolts, pushing it out an extra half inch to keep their woofer from rubbing. That might work if the JL is only an inch thicker than the Kicker. but probably not more

UPDATE: cut out the childseat bracket today and went to the shop. Brought the box out and test fit. It's so close it's sickening but alas, it didn't fit. You could probably get the seat to wedge against the grill and dent it but I wasn't interested in that so I'm sticking with the 10". YMMV...

UPDATE 2: the sub fits now. I put about 1/2" of washers between the huge and the seat for the upper section of the seat. I also removed the car seat hook. With no plastic on the back of the seat and the plastic removed from the back wall, the sub fits literally perfectly.

I don't think most people would notice the improvement of the 12 over the 10 but I found with some older music, like Deep Purple and Van Halen, I wanted the sub to hit a little harder for the bass-shy mixes. Most of the other stuff I listen to I didn't notice a marked difference in normal listening nor did I with loud listening. I got a hell of a deal on it and the 5% improvement for the aforementioned music makes a BIG difference to me. Keep in mind I have been playing, mixing and recording music for 20 years and have spent a lot of time in masters-level classes for mastering music. What I'm saying is I have pretty critical ears...

Did you get the 12” to fit, or are you talking about the 10”? Can you post some pics of your install?

12" box. Took 5 washers to make it fit plus the backnof the seat and rear plastic wall removed.

The washers in between the two bolts and the hinge assembly that bolts to the back of the upper seat portion

Will the TW3 10” fit without modification?

Do you have a link to this washer mod or specs of the washers needed?

Pull the bolts, find a washer that fits and use 4-5 of them per side.
