Took the truck in this morning to get new wheels put on, the new wheels being some AR172 Bajas at 0 offset. Discount Tire mounted them and found that the back side of the wheel rubbed up against the brakes (I'm no mechanic, but that's not good).

So, Discount Tire scoured the database and found that the Baja does not come at a negative offset so they ended up going with the ProComp 69 Series at a -12 offset. How much will this stick out? I don't mind that look if it's minor...and I presume that since -12mm isn't much it won't be great.

Anyone have any photos of installed wheel/tire combo at -12 offset?

    Later.

0 offset will poke out more than a negative offset. but this involves backspacing and wheel width. you need to offer all three numbers: width, backspacing, and offset. my wheels, for example, are 17x8.5, 0 offset, 4.5"backspace... no contact or rubbing. and the tires (265/65-17) poke out the fender guards nicely.

EDIT: corrected info below from @stevotivo12
You've got the offset backwards but everything else is good! Negative offset pokes out further.

You've got the offset backwards but everything else is good! Negative offset pokes out further. You should be fine OP, this is what approximately speaking -12mm offset wheels will look like. It's actually stockers on a 1.25" spacer, meaning that the net is +30mm - 36ishmm so approximately -6mm but that's pretty darn close though. 20170827_144821.jpg EDIT: these are 255/85-16 tires

Need more info. than what you are providing but with all things equal a -12 offset wheel will stick out further than a 0 offset by about 0.47" or just about 1/2 inch.

275/65 18. Slight rubbing on front mud flaps at full lock. Used a dremel to trim a little off the flaps

Thanks. I have 17x9 wheels with -12 offset. Going to run 285/70/17s though; think I'll have to trim some of the flaps and reshape the fender liner so there's no rubbing.

I hear ya. You may actually end up having to just remove the flaps altogether but i could be wrong

If you look at any SCS wheel thread, you’ll see plenty of -10mm or -12mm offset pictures. The difference between the two is negligible, so it’ll give you a good idea of where your stance will be when it’s all said and done.

I'm sure it's been mentioned but if not I'll chime in. You need to know wheel width, offset, and backspace to know exactly how to compare wheel poke/tuck. For example. I currently have a 17x9.5 with -18 off set which comes to a 4.5" backspace. Most likely will be temporarily installing a 17x7 with +4 which comes to a 4.25" backspace. By just going off offset it's a 26mm difference, or 1" of tuck but actually I'll really only be pushing my wheel in by .25". Here is a chart to give you an idea of how to compare all the measurements.

Methods with -12 offset. Falken Wildpeaks 285/70R17. I rubbed a bit so I had a CMC done as well as some minor inner fender trimming.

-12 offset with 285/70/17s. Just ordered RDJ fender flares, which should give me more width over the tire. I fling a lot of debris up on the paint and I don't want mud flaps.

Sweet ride and I love that green! Do you have a lift? Also just because I am looking at that same font bumper what is the weight of it?

Yes, 3in front, 2in rear. that's a Body Armor HiLine bumper. I think it's only around 45lbs or so. Cant really remember. didnt add too much weight to the front.
