I'm getting ready to put on a 3 inch front 2 inch rear leveling kit from Rough Country but I am a little doubtful of the quality of the shocks. I've had a Rough Country lift before but on an older vehicle, so I was thinking about switiching out the RC shocks that came with the kit for a set of the Bilstein 5100's. Would it really make much of a change in the ride to do so or is it a waste of time?

the 5100's are a very plush ride, what does the rough country come with to get the lift?

If you didn't already purchase said lift I wouldn't bother. Just get a lift with 5100's to begin with.

Do billies pre-load the spring? If I set them at .85, how is the ride vs. 1.x, etc.?

Yeah unfotunately now the kit has already been bought. It came with the strut extension and hardware, 2 in blocks, U bolts and the N2.0 shocks.
