I was expecting some clearancing just maybe not as much cutting as you have.

Oh it's a lot to take full advantage. A little is what 35s need.

For those of you that use your trucks in the mud or over obstacles are you sticking with SOA? Trying to figure out all the parts I’m thinking before calling JD and bothering them.

@WormSquirts , @ovrlndkull , @snowsk8air2 i was for hoping some for advice and noticed you guys have watched products from multiple companies. If I was to run the JD lower arm pivots kit for now even with my stock control arms do you think the rclt kit would bolt to it if it comes out. Trying to get this Tacoma usable off-road and thought the lower arm bracket would at least allow me to run 33s so I could sell my 4Runner and see what happens with these kits to see which direction to go. But don’t want to weld that all up to find out it won’t work. I would hate to get my front frame all welded and modified with some JD parts then decide to go the other way to find out I can’t. But hoping JDs lower kit would be a super solid start to any direction I decide to go. Thanks for any info.

Don't hold your breath for the RCLT. That's all I'm going to say. JD fab is actually out there you get a lot for your money with that kit and it's well worth it.

What he said. If you like the JD lower pivot kit, which there’s little. It to like about, then I’d go for it. RCLT is going on 3 years development I believe and their production times will be long if it ever makes it there. The ground clearance gain is nice, especially if you are in the rocks a lot but other companies are building beefy enough arms to handle landing on some rocks. I believe the JD kit is probably the next best as far as ground clearance, but heck I made it through the rubicon with my dirt king kit and it held up to the abuse just fine.

But to answer the original question, Nono don’t think you’ll have issues running the RCLT with the jd subframe if that’s your plan

Thank you for the answers. I really appreciate it. Had seen that MC has updated their website so thought maybe after the 3 years they were finally getting close to moving forward. I definitely think they released details way too early in their process.
Would love to just order all the JD stuff all at once but my pockets aren’t quite that deep. and getting the truck at least up off these highway tires would allow me to sell the 4runner to make more funds. Also didn’t want to notch the frame for the JD steering upgrade just in case I went to rclt from what I’m seeing their steering upgrades are not going to be compatible

Well I think tomorrow will be a good tell if they’re gonna move forward with things. We’ll see if the 4Runner running RCLT can finish its king of the hammers race without breaking it again

Ya that will be a good indication. I thought that 4 runner had completed it

I don't see why it wouldn't work! But the JD long travel has quite a bit more clearance than most long travel kits. Not as much as rclt though. I've used mine more in the rocks than in the whoops because of where I live, and I've only hit the control arm once pretty hard, which it shrugged off no big deal with just a small dent.

Thanks. Thinking that no matter which way I go the JD mount would be a great foundation. And it will allow me to put some decent size tires on (maybe 33s) in the mean time of deciding (waiting to see what happens for the rclt). Now to just wait till JD gets more made. They said might be a group buy coming for them. Hopefully that goes soon.

The name of the thread is fitting 35’s with minimal trimming. Why stop at those little 33’s. Heck you can damn near fit 33’s stock depending on wheel specs and alignment.

Was about to say the same thing!

I made a video on instagram about fitting 35s on stock suspension on our Instagram recently.

    Haha

Also mmmmmmmm Duratracs. Do miss mine but they don’t come big enough for me anymore lol. Patagonia haven’t disappointed though as their successor.

Haha yeah the 315s are as big as they come. I replaced them with ridge grapplers which I have liked so far!

35s would be great. Was thinking I would keep stock uca and lca. Maybe even stock shocks for a little while. And wasn’t sure what would fit decent until a full kit was chosen

Haven’t made it anywhere on the Tacoma, but did take the 4runner out to play in the snow.

JD fab parts ordered. Now to wait for shipping. Thanks to @81Trekker for answering all my questions yesterday.

What did you end up getting? I can’t praise Harry’s customer support enough. Best that I have dealt with so far in this industry. I hate to bug him cause I know their busy but if I have to, he’s always been able to get me an answer. Even on his own personal time. That speaks volumes enough for how he stands behind the product.

Lower control arm pivot, spindle gussets, upper shear kit, and double shear steering kit. Gonna run this with some trd springs and shocks for now till I can save up some more. Once I can sell my 4 runner that should help.
