Is there a way I can make these work without the trucks ignition having to be on?

Fwiw jumping that relay can also make your radio and a couple other things stay on. It's fairly simple to just jump a 12v line to the plugs. There are a few right behind the outlets.

My 2000 did 96 didnt. Not everyone does so I said *can*. I'm not sure why but its out there. Jumping the relay made the radio stay on unless I turned it off, the passenger airbag light stayed on unless I turned the bag off. I think there were 1 or 2 other quirks but I'd have to think for a while. I left it like that for several months until I got tired of dealing with it. Put the relay back in and everything was back to normal.

So I spent 10 minutes and just connected the under radio ports, called it a day. Since all I wanted to do was be able to charge my phone with the car off it seemed best. The thought of wire tracing just to do that... nope.

Funnily enough I've been trying to find a way to do the same with my beemer. People on the bmw forums are all upset if the ports DONT turn off. Convenience can be sooooo inconvenient to some
