Need to replace knock sensors and one of the things recommended on Timmy's YT video on this repair was Toyota 1282b seal packing for the coolant ports

Searched the site and found some older threads on this but wanting current info/suggestions on les expensive options that will work as well (or better)

Just need a dab for around the coolant ports (assuming pitting) so not real keen on spending $75 plus for a tube of this stuff

I do not want to do this repair and then have to redo it because I used the wrong thing to seal so if my only option is this expensive stuff I will use it but want to make sure I am not wasting money when a less costly option is available

Have you found any 1282b substitutes since your original post on this issue? I am in the same situation and have even already watched the same video on Timmy's YT. Did you end up using the 1282b after all?

    Thanks
