I really think I should had also, but the option was more expensive then at the price I got it at now honestly, so it sort of worked out in my favor anyways.

Yep, but that 2.85 pulley isn't happening. That thing is an absolute NIGHTMARE to try to install! I'll pass on it and go back to the stock 3.0.

What? Why? Did you get the install tool?

just get some compressed air, spray down the nose piece, soak the pulley in hot water and then it should slide right on

I tried doing all that shit. Even took a torch to it. It's too late now. It's already all bent up to shit from trying to remove it. I was attempting to install it using the install tool and the pulley just reached a point where it just seized. Like zero movement whatsoever. The shaft and the pulley were lubbed too!

I may have to take a die grinder to the goddamn thing at this point tomorrow. It almost seemed like it was almost machined incorrectly or something. It reached a point where it required the force of god just to turn the wrench as we were attempting to install it. So out of fear of breaking the install tool we opted to stop there and just leave it as is in stock condition.

It's Saturday. I don't even think they were open because I tried to call earlier today and neither sales, nor customer support was answering. Plus what are they going to do for me over the phone? Everything was as it should be and the install still couldn't be finished. Short of removing the snout and getting it pressed on, all other attempts have been useless. Now the pulley is so bent up in the back from trying to remove it that I would not even be able to fit the belt on it. It's like legitimately seized on there now. So I might just take the die grinder to it tomorrow on install day, and that's if I can even fit the 3.0 stock one back on.

Oh yea, sorry, I'm on 12 hour shifts, forgot what day it is lol.

Hmmmm who knows, they might know some crazy trick to get it to slip right on. Its press fit anyways, if that one happened to be off by a .0001 or something it could just not fit, you know? I'd call them on monday and let them know what happened, I bet Gadget will send you out a new one.

Well the thing is that after I install it I don't want to touch that area of it anymore and since the install goes down tomorrow I wanted to finalize the prep work required to make this install a breeze, and the pulley was one of them. I actually ordered two of them up because there was a discrepancy between shipping based on the state that gadget input initially. He put in Pittsburg, PA when it was Pittsburg, CA. So that ended up delaying the first pulley I ordered. So this one I attempted to install today was actually the rescue 2nd pulley. I technically have a second one coming in monday, but by then the install will be completed and it will be twice as hard to install on the truck itself without removing a crap ton of stuff just to be able to access it. So even if he does send me a new one, or eats the cost for the second one which will arrive monday, it won't do me any good regardless. I'm a little disappointed with how this all played out. Not to mention beat tired from f*cking with this since I received it at 12:30 this afternoon.

I hear ya dude. I never know what day it is either. I work nights and I used to work 12's myself. All good!

Sounds good man. Well, hold on the second one and I'll see how easy i can make it on myself. I've heard the "blast the nose cone with a compressed air can upside down for that delicious CO2 while at the same time the pulley in boiling water and then basically pull out the pulley super quick and slam it on to the nose and it should go right on" works wonders. I'm gonna give that a shot with wife blasting CO2 and hope it works :D

Yeah I've heard that as well. I know that the shaft is steel, so it's unlikely to expand anywhere near as much as aluminum will and many have reported that taking the compressed air can to it isn't necessary so I didn't do that part. I don't know if I should hold on to the pulley or just send it back.

Here is a picture of the pulley as it sits right now. It's about 1/2 of the way in. You can see where the bend in the back of it is largely pronounced.

    20150627_183634_zpsekmeasbn_1b9ae56749713b523842c01404be246d8cf738af.jpg

Upon putting the stock TRD belt on it though, it appears to fit just fine still. I am not sure. What do you guys think? Still serviceable?

    20150627_183721_zpsvpyooogy_806ad39735e05b0d0cf5697075050b3d8808b8f1.jpg

As far as continuing to install it goes if it still appears good to go, what do you guys suggest? I'm sure just take a torch to the entire pulley in general wouldn't work at this point would it due of the fact that the shaft is right there huh.

I don't know man, I'd be afraid that under boost you'd start slipping on the pulley because it isn't fully engaged on the nose cone. I think leave it as is for now and give URD a call on Monday and see what Gadget says about that. He might tell you to replace it or do something else, you know?

Well I would obviously continue to attempt to install the pulley all the way in. So the nose cone would be all way flush like it should be. I'm talking more about how the belt current rides in the pulley. It appears as if the back wall of the pulley and the fact that it is distorted still allows the belt to ride within its respective rib areas without issue.

Oh. Yea...it looks fine to me. Its not being pressed on by the deformed spots and as long as it sits in the grooves, you're fine.
