I'd like to install an auto-dimming mirror in my '08 Tacoma but need a 12v wire to tap in to. On when key or acc is on, off otherwise. I don't have the overhead console, so I can't tap in there like others have done. I don't have power mirrors or any other power items that some suggest tapping in to. I can't get to the wires going in to my cigarette lighter or power outlet. Can anybody tell me or post a picture of where I can easily find a 12v wire without taking my dash off?
    Thanks

    It's the wife's T4R so it's stock
Your best bet is going to be the fuse panel behind the coin tray.

Thanks for the quick response. Do you know what color wire I should look for, or do I have to get an 'add a fuse' like I've read about? Sorry, I'm not an electrician...

I think an add-a-fuse would be your best option. Not sure on which fuse to add to though. If you have a multi-meter, you can find one that's only hot when the ignition is turned on.

    Sorry I can't help more -- I'm not an electrician either... :D
