12volt solutions remote start

I've had the remote start for quite some time, but after installing it the horn no longer beeps when locking or unlocking. I sent an email to 12volt, but they never did respond. Has this happened to anyone else? Also, after replacing the battery in the long range remote the beeping sound you get when the vehicle starts doesn't happen. It will beep when you remotely turn it off, but not when it starts to let you know it's running.

 

Mine stopped making the noise as well when unlocking locking truck Ive had the remote start installed in my truck for a couole years as well… I recently replaced my battery in the remote as well and I did a reset on the control module and it fixed the noise when starting the truck…

Thanks. I unplugged the module and plugged it back in. Must have been the same as doing a reset. It works now. It still has an occasional no start. It will just turn over and not start. Sometimes starting on the 2nd try. Does yours ever do that?

 

Only issue Ive had with the truck not starting is when I first got it It would just crank and crank but not start it ended up being my wireless Scanner/diagnostic tool it has the auto turn on when truck starts so it wont drain your battery when the truck is off Not sure why Bc now I have ScanGauge and i leave it plugged in and have no issues with truck starting… But I reset my module by holding a couple buttons waiting for it
To blink green then red I have the reset procedure somewhere just need to find it when I do ill share it woth you. That fixed all my issues ilI had after replacing battery and what not…

Installed mine on 2014 Limited. My only issues was not initializing the sending unit because I didn’t read the back of one of the instruction sheets. After that, never had an issue and use it all the time

 

I only carry the remote start remote why do you all carry both for?

Has anyones fob stopped making sound?

 

Mine that did stopped working all together but I’ve not reset it. Give them call.

 

replace battery.

 

DId that in both Fobs and neither plays the sound when turning on/off... just lock and unlock beeps.

 

Unplug the antenna for a few mins and try that…once in awhile mine will do the that.

 

When you turn on the truck using the remote starter why the oem fob sometimes would lock and unlock the truck and sometime does not work?
Also does the truck beeps when you locks and unlock using the remote starter fob?

 

I just installed on my 2013. The truck no longer beeps when locking/unlocking. I kind of wish it still did that as I use that sound to confirm operation from inside the house when I can't see the truck on the driveway... is there a way to turn the beeps back on?

 

Not sure why that happened after installation. I installed mine a few years back on my 2014 and the beep still worked as factory. There is a way to turn the “beep” on and off from the key fob from what i remember. The factory key fob. Youtube it and see if that helps?

 

The car won’t peep when it turns on. The park lights will be on. the two way remote will peep a couple of times to confirm that the car is on. After that it will flash every few seconds.

 

Correct. I emailed them and they said the beep goes away because they tie into the door locks rather than the main system.

Does this then/now disable the factory alarm system? I haven't played around with the alarm to see if it still works?

 

My factory alarm works as normal. Factory fob still work etc.
