Has anyone installed this on your 2016 Tacoma , and had any problems with it? Will installing this void your warranty?

Go with the 12Volt harness over the KBVoodoo- the brains or box are the same for both companies - 12Volt is a seemless install and instead of splicing up your harness with the KB, the 12Volt basically piggybacks off the connectors without splicing - 5min install versus a 30min install

I just checked there site the 12volt... they have two editions v1 and v2. Seems like the V2 is a straight plug in?

which one do you have? I don't mind slicing wires or crimping it, but this is a much cleaner install.

its a bit more expensive but plug and play is a whole lot cleaner. I would have gone this route instead if I had known about it.

Wish there was some work around for takeover. I'm really considering getting it but doesn't seem beneficial for me. It Never gets cold here so remoting to warm up is pointless. And it takes a while to cool off when your car is 100+ degrees and you are limited by the range of the oem fob. That said I'll probably buy it at some point.

Install seems super easy plug and play that if u have to take it in for some form of repair you could just remove it before you bring the truck in.

You could always get the Viper Smart system to pair with it and the range is greatly improved

@Sandeman - mind describing or linking a thread for the use of the 12Volt V2 and Viper Smart system in tandem?

I installed the semi plug and play from 12volt last week, I wouldn't go any other route, literally a 15 minute install. Videos are very clear and make it a no brainer.

Just so we’re clear, I’m in no way sponsored or affiliated with 12Volt - I just had a really Good experience with them

Has anyone installed it on an H key manual? The site provides a setup for an h key but it says auto only. Looking for a setup that you don't need to do a rediculous procedure every time you shut it off. Been searching and reading older threads with no definite word.

According to their site, no take over feature is available at this time.

I put the V2 in a couple of weeks ago and its really simple. Range isnt great and is kinda pointless if youre out some where and walking up to your truck. That being said though i use it to warm up my truck in the morning before i goto work. Works great but you have to get used to it shutting the engine off when you open the door. Not that big of a deal to me.
