ok, here goes my "being cheap" rant.
$60 for ECGS bushing....ok, I get it, production cost, design, etc...
    BUT....$45 for a $5 tool I can make with a welder in 30 min...
OVER $13 to ship a bushing??
    cmon guys....
    rant done.

This. It’s a basic tool. Freaking ikea furniture comes with tools. Include the tool, boost the price and lower shipping so I don’t have to moan and groan about buying a tool and paying regular real world shipping prices. I’d buy that 100 dollar package.

But then you get to moan about having to ‘buy another tool’ when you want to help your buddy.

They should just make them and hand them out for free.

    Problem solved.

The tool is optional, meaning you don’t have to buy it. Not sure what you’re going to weld to make something similar as just a bolt, nut and 2 plates that have been cut and tapped out. Regardless the tool is to save people time and aggravation. To some that’s worth the $45 they want. Or you could just pay a shop to do it for you. Atleast then you don’t have to bitch about “having” to buy a tool.

As for the shipping, $13 isn’t a lot of money if that includes shipping the tool. Nothing is free, not even “free shipping” that’s just adding the costs into the product. They gotta pay the shipping company. Now if they added an extra $13 dollars on top of the shipping for some handling or something then I could see you getting butthurt.

Have a cup of coffee or a beer or something and chill out man

I bitched for an hour at the dealer about the $1045 I had to pay for shipping on my new Tacoma.

I'm mean really? I gotta pay for shipping?

This is the Amazon effect. They have been losing money and robbing the Post Office blind for years to convince everyone shipping should be free. Once they put everyone else out of business shipping won’t be ‘free’ anymore.

I do understand the frustration though and wish every website included shipping cost calculators right on the product page. Playing hide the weeny until you checkout is unacceptable in this day and age.

Op if you want to be cheap post on the buy and sell thread -iso ecgs bushing tool. Then people will say hey I’ll sell you my used one for half price or even loan you it if you pay for shipping. Once you’re done sell it to the next guy.

You are not the first guy to need the tool and definitely not the last.

Throw a lock on this thread it’s done :locked:

Cause ya know you're gonna launch at least one across the room.

I assemble certain parts of my AR lowers in a big ziploc bag now for just this reason.
