For those that own a non-etune equipped truck. Is there a SAT button on the radio? I'm negotiating a deal on a DCLB w/o stereo upgrade and I won't buy w/o Satellite radio. The dealer says they will install in the deal. I will not have one of those free standing units. Will stop at dealer tomorrow to discuss directly, my communications have been via email and texts. thanks.

I was told by the dealer and the parts guy in the shop as well........no way to add SAT radio to the NON-entune radio.........as of yet anyway. This was for my 2013 and I was WAY bummed out. They said only was was to go aftermarket, etc.

It should be reflashable via software, honestly I'll bet you the guts of the head unit is the same, HOWEVER, that would also require you get the satellite antenna too, and what that plugs into the back of the head unit is a totally different ball game.

I actually did but my skid plate was in the way! :D

    :locked: !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll bet you that's the Entune head unit. It looks ERRILY familiar and disgustingly similar to the same one I have. That part # at the top also looks the same too.

EDIT: 57016, yep that's the one. A quick confirmation runout to my car confirms this. Like I said... :locked::locked::locked::locked:

The radio should have the plugs on the back for SAT and should be able to be added by the dealer. If there is no SAT box installed the button will not be lit up, but should still be able to be seen. I think there may be 2 versions of the non-entune radio. Not all of them have the steering wheel controls and Bluetooth function

I think it is too, but you cant get entune if your truck doesnt specify that it has entune. To register on the entune site, you need to enter your vin. If it didn't come with it from the factory, it wont work. I just wanted JBL in my truck. The salesman and I were both shocked when we turned the truck on and the map came on. The sticker doesnt say anywhere that it comes with sat or nav. I am not gonna complain about not having entune :D
You can see the difference between mine and spruced up's. Mine has XM and HD logo, also mine has an "apps" button where he has play/pause button. So I got a free nav and free XM headunit! ...if I ever move to the mainland or they start pointing an XM satellite at hawaii anyway...

I agree, you do need the VIN in order to activate Entune. It was probably a fudge up from the factory when installing the head unit and they installed the wrong one. If you have the Nav, you have XM capability in it undoubtedly. I hate Entune, I care more about the Nav portion of it anyways. That and XM are my two hot items on the stereo.

Agreed. I just hope someday we get satellite radio in Hawaii. I had a rental car in the mainland with XM and it was awesome.
The funny thing is that my window sticker and invoice (preordered) didn't say anything about nav and sat. When the salesperson discovered it, I quickly turned it off and told him "you didn't see nuthin!" :D

Lol he wouldn't be able to jack up the price of the car in any way possible, even if he wanted to. There is no additional add ons or addendum's that he would be able to attach to it either because that stuff added on would obviously be aftermarket and not original OE, therefore he would be essentially what was and still is a stock truck. However, you have a rare bird from the factory (a freak) so yours might be worth some more one day when and if it comes time to trade in or resell!
